I hear everyone talking about how it's sad that this game was killed by the industry- Which. Yeah it is, But the people in the industry who killed it were the Dev's themselves. They bought themselves out from under their publisher to try and run solo and not charge as much in terms of microtransactions and get more freedom to do what they wanted. They then realized that they needed money to keep the lights on and to pay people to develop the game. They then started adding a lot of new forms of microtransaction (See: Steam marketplace update), As well as reworking old systems to be more grindy/pay-to-play (See the shard system). Yeah, it's sad the game died but remember that it's the Dev's who killed it. They aren't the ones deserving of pity in this situation, they put themselves in a corner without proper planning and the player base and game were the ones who wound up quite literally paying for their mistakes. I miss being able to play it a lot, I was a beta tester for it, went out of my way to get the founders pack with the OG obsidian skins. I spent hundreds of hours in it. I'd even gotten the chance to speak with a few of their community managers over the years. Most'a the folk who worked on this game probably didn't have a say in what happened, Not blaming them. I'm blaming the idiots who failed to plan for what would happen when they decided to move out on their own away from the people who were paying their bills without a plan on how to pay them themselves. It sucks, All around shitty situation.

The big reason for the unbalanced nature of it is there are a core group of us that have put alot of time into the game and no trace of sbmm in the game so we can only play whoever ends up with us and sometimes I just feel bad for doing that

this game was my absolute favorite, and i've seen people do the dumbest things with this game. like launching yourself pactically into orbit with fragger and the failsafe perk, redirecting a friend's javelin rocket with pineapple juggler to body your teammates, straight up roleplaying as an ammo dispenser, and so much more. good times. this game will always have a special place in my heart.

I loved being that medic with the revive gun, she got white hair don’t remember the name, but she’s low health full speed with a machine pistol that does shit damage and a revive gun that can shoot and kill enemies and you’d charge it by holding m1 and you could fill charge headshot light classes Fuck I remember being top frag with kills, revives, and 0 deaths with that character every once in a while, god that game was good as hell

I have so many hours in this game it's ridiculous, it's not really unbalanced it's a lot more balanced when you have an entire team against each other, each character is really defined and the card progression system was pretty good for it's time, you could get the max card with at most 9 hours if you grinded, but this fast pace shooter was so fun to just mindlessly spawn, kill and die, and then run back into the fight quickly. But the game is so fun with full teams

Some advice: You rarely have to aim down sights. Hip firing is the preferred way to shoot in this game. And that window jump is a wall jump ... You can also long jump by pressing crouch (while sprinting) right before the jump. Or to cut things short: Play the damn tutorial!! ;) (aaand read the on-screen instructions mid-game)

Dirty Bomb (also the spiritual successor to Brink as both were by Splash Damage) had a lot of potential. Not truly Pay to Win as the only thing the cards did was change appearance and provide up to like two or three passive bonuses, but you could get the max bonuses on a Bronze Card and Bronzes were pretty easy to get without paying anything.

Well I was one of the pre-alpha testers of this game and when it first came out it lacked vision... The game was advertised as tactical yet it was played like chicken with head cut off and so fast paced...Then they toned it down alot and it became good but Splash Damage ruined it...They just werent good at marketing the game and never implemented a proper update or give players tools to make it happen...I remember it took them 2,5 years to release a single map...Every week you got dev update where Shoe had to apologize and say why we didnt get the map it was awful...He was really trying as CM...Then they introduced AskDevs and that was complete shitshow because it showed how out of touch with community they were...Truly a sad story

Dirty Bomb is pretty good, idk how it died but I'm guessing its because of the microtransactions (the card system is pretty much a lootbox that can affect gameplay) it has a very good movement system and parkouring that actually makes the game feel very fast

I blame the grind, I remember it being brutal early on, plus the game needed a good number of balances and new Mercs released to get it to the stage it was at, but it was a little too late. It's a fun parkour shooter though

The focus on those silly steam charts was actually something that impacted the game negatively (because players and devs were more concerned how to attract and please new/more players instead of improving the game). The only real problem with low player count games is the sometimes big difference of skills (and the technical problems due to high ping differences).
