I'd been working in the Southern North Sea in the early eighties on Jack Up Oil rigs as a cook and then a job came up for me working off Aberdeen on a Semi Sub oil rig My first shift as a Night Cook in the galley and the phone went...i answered and some Glaswegian was talking away with me and i didn't have a scooby doo what the hell he'd said to me....i was so scared to answer after that i'd let the Galley hands answer the phone for me...it took a good few years to master their language and yes they are very funny funny people
