Very informed opinion. Spending more then you have and getting into debt for a household budget is fixed by cutting back because your wages will remain the same and you can pay off the debt. The BIG LIE that Tories have been peddling for years is that national economies work the same way. They don’t!!! If a government cuts expenditures tax revenue falls which means you end up with not enough money to repay the debt and end up borrowing more to keep the country running. This is what happened under the Conservative austerity policy so instead of reducing the National debt they increased it the Conservatives are provably fiscally irresponsible. To repay the debt the government has to spend which boosts the economy increases tax revenue then there’s spare cash to pay down the debt. Also the National debt is a bit of a red herring if you have an understanding of MMT (Modern Monetary Theory) but that’s beyond the scope of this comment. A grand a week dole money hell yeah that’ll boost the economy.
@darek44884 жыл бұрын
Did you seriously just said that more government spending means more tax revenue?
@sid35gb4 жыл бұрын
darek4488 Yes although it is dependent on how the money is spent. Because giving tax breaks to corporations will have no effect the tend to repurchase company shares to boost share price but does nothing to promote growth. It needs to be put into the hands of people who will spend it and for that money to be spent many times over to maximise the effects, this is part of how MMT works which is sometimes referred to quantitive easing and when coordinates with other countries like in 2008 can minimise the effects of inflation. But economics is no the Tories strong point when looking back at historical data.
@darek44884 жыл бұрын
@@sid35gb And how the money is spent if a person deciding on it is spending someone elses money on somebody else's needs and on top of that is not responsible for any bad decision they make? They have no reason to care, they are getting paid regardless. More state spending = more inefficiency = more taxes. If taxes and bureaucracy are high then only the biggest international companies can survive. This creates monopolies. What you want is the opposite - competition and full ease of starting a new business. Look at Chile or Hongkong. Everyone can put a blanket on sidewalk and start doing business. What you earn is all yours, you don't have to share. Hard work is not only rewarded greatly, but also beneficial to the society. Growth comes from work, not redistribution.

Just to clarify. U.K borrows the money from a private bank which is owned by people who's names are protected by secrecy clauses. Thats right, secrecy clauses. They are given invisibility, secrecy and complete protection by law. To find out who they are and to give away their names is a capital offence which still carries a death penalty via treason against the state. This private bank goes by the misleading name of "The Bank of England". It doesn't belong to England, it is a private entity, which operates in the interests of its owners. Who's names we are not allowed to know. This bank is situated in "The City of London". Dont confuse this for London. But "The City of London" is a square mile of land near the heart of London, it is its own jurisdiction, it is independent of England, it has its own laws and its own legislation. It is a state within a state. Even the Queen isn't allowed to enter "The City of London" without prior permission. This bank has effectively held the entire country to ransom. And through debt they now own, control and dictate what happens, right down to the granular level. The whole Brexit issue was simply a way for this bank to curtail upcoming banking regulations that were being introduced by Europe. This concentration of power did not want to be subjected to regulation (following 2008 crash). And thus they spent 10years spinning a narrative to change public opinion and get us to leave the E.U. Through this power (the root of power) this doesn't care what happens within politics, it doesn't care about which party wins an election, or the employment crisis, homelessness, or how bad the economy is, or what the queen does - they simply bypass everything by having control over the nations wealth and monetary system. The entire countries establishments, legal system, government, lords, commons, royal family, military/army/defense - are all beholden to this private bank. This is who we owe our debt to. A secret cabal of ultra powerful bankers. Rip.

It's a great-sounding conspiracy theory but the Bank of England was only privately owned until 1946 when it was nationalised. Now it 100% owned by the state, like all true Central Banks.
