Oh Kevin. Absolutely spot-on. I'm 73 and so pleased that I am not a teenager who feels that I have to be part of the social media disease.

And I suppose your parents were worried about that terrible disease called the television and their parents: the wireless, and their parents: telegram, and theirs: the postal service

@@dazmorland This aint really social media though, it's a video upload platform that happens to have chats for livestreams and comment sections. It's not as if people are here telling every one else they have just had a shyt or telling us what they just had for dinner lol. This is about the closest I ever want to get to social media.

Very good points about social media, and how some people create their own stories based on snippets of reality (without the full, real story and context). Hats off to you, Kev!

As someone who left school 2 years ago all that shaming is still very much about. Maybe not as bad as it was but still very prominent and very character building lol

I got taken the pish out of in school for having a GOLA sports bag. I couldn't get my head around it because I didn't give a fk about brand names and all that shyte. I just instantly came to the conclusion that they were morons lol. I didn't feel offended by it, I felt they had offended themselves with their own ridiculousness.

You see it in football today, there now no mavericks Imagine what doctors today would of said about paul gsacoigne, or paul merson today in football, they would want to diagnose them as all sorts There is no wingers in football anymore, people who were mavericks who thought differently to other footballers. Todays footballers all thing the same, they conform to what they think footballers should be No footballers come into football in there 20s any more, the people who did not go through the systems of conforming to what football thinks it wants. I agree its sad for young people today, none of them can be different in any way, they all have to conform to social media wants and peer pressures, that young people before turn of the century did not have. You see in todays football there is no mavericks anymore Imagine messi when young being told he was all sorts of things because he was different. The football world may never of seen him, and what about maradona, or any other genius who was different Social media has made all young people conform to social standards of very dumb people, you see all these fools who have massive youtube followings as they are just social media icons, who know nothing, and are not different in any way, they help young people today conform to society Media played that role before internet, ie teaching people how to conform to society, but social media today is way worse, and its no wonder in todays football you see no mavericks, people are so scared to be different and do something different as they will just be laughed at in the social media world.

Thats because Paul Gascoine shouldve been diagnosed something, he clearly has some sort of disorder, ADHD if i had to guess Maybe with the right support he may not have become a broken down alcoholic who was slowly killing himself
