Kevin Conroy isn't just great because he has a deep voice and sounds like we imagine Batman, he really is a great actor. The scene where Bruce is at his parents' grave in Mask of the Phantasm is some of the best acting I've seen/heard. Very moving, you can feel his Shakespearean background.

Aaron Gillie: Well, the sad fact is it wasn’t really acting. While recording the scene, Kevin went back to a dark memory from when he was a teenager. His father was an alcoholic and had tried to kill himself. Kevin said he was by his dad’s hospital bed, crying and pleading for him to survive. While recording, all these emotions just came to the surface, and afterwards, Andrea Romano put her arms around him. It makes the scene even sadder when you realize the actor behind it is basing his performance off his own traumatic experiences.😢😢
