Bron played horribly that year from around Christmas through the trade deadline, at which point the Cavs’ front office traded about half the team (including Isiah Thomas and Jae Crowder). Prior to that, Bron had been demonstrating very poor leadership on the court (bad body language, poor effort on defense, carelessness with the basketball, etc.). Had the Cavs sat on their hands and done nothing, there’s a good chance that season would have gone up in flames-all under the guidance of Bron’s “steady hand”.

One thing Brew in particular is missing is that Durant is 34 years old. He has, at most, 4 prime years left, and Jaylen Brown has 10+. Ant Edwards hasn't even hit his prime yet. The best deal in a deal revolving around Durant, imo, is a multiple-team trade where the Nets deal both Durant and Kyrie in that trade and get the biggest haul in NBA history. Otherwise, the Nets can call KD's bluff and Durant will have to play. He's got 4 years left on the deal.

There's NO WAY I would trade away Anthony Edwards for Kevin Durant, even if it's a 1 for 1 trade. I wouldn't do that deal if the salaries matched and the Nets offered another player of Minnesota's choosing. Kevin has been brilliant and does not get the credit that he deserves, but his age is starting to show. Many players have an idea of how to adjust their game as they age. The problem for KD is he showed a lack of burst AND a lack of strength when they lost to the Celtics. If he puts on muscle, then he is even slower and his risk of injury increases. If he trims down, maybe he gets some burst back, but it won't be enough to offset the negative impact of the loss of strength. His jumper is already historic, so the marginal return for working on his shot would be minimal. Anthony Edwards may be one of the five best players in the league in two years, if not next year.

Putting up muscle decreases your risk of injury if done properly and if it's not excessive. KD is probably 15 pounds of muscle weaker than he should be. I do agree with you on his age showing. This isn't the same Kd from golden state or OKC. All you need to know that is how often he goes to the rim and line. The last time I checked he was going to the line like 7.8 time per game and was only getting around 10%-16% of his Points in the paint. In okc he would get 25%-30© of his points in the paint and would go to the line 9-10 time per game. I don't know if it's just me or he's getting his shot blocked more often than he used to. Another thing that shows his age is his handling and crossover. Much slower than it once was

It's simple: if KD says he wants to play somewhere, the Nets can say so and that they're getting a dedicated guy and leader who wants to finish the contract there, and get more. If KDs "sources" say he doesn't want to go somewhere, then that team can say "we don't know if he will force out, if he'll play nice in the locker room, recruit, or if he'll put his whole heart into it" and use that as leverage to offer less. Teams can still offer, but BKN can press the teams he wants to go to for more loot and they end up more likely destinations. His leverage is that he gets to pick which team has leverage

Actually don’t mind the timberwolves getting involved for kd. Although I’d be offering towns, letting nets move Simmons. Kat still has some trade value but Ant is the face of the team going forward. With the gobert trade, don’t know how they are going to mesh together. Probably unlikely with the amount of picks they sent to the jazz, but Kat would be a decent player for nets to re tool around depending on what they can get for Simmons and a core of gobert kd and ant would be interesting.

Jaylen Brown completely outplayed Tatum in the Finals. Not just at times like Broussard said. Wonder what Finals he was watching. Cause the Finals i saw had Tatum shoot 34% from the field, have the most turnovers in the Finals since the stat started being recorded, and he averaged 3 ppg in the 4th quarter. Tatum was AWFUL in the Finals. Literally everyone played better than him.

Ben Simmons is causing the nets to be limited to the young stars they can acquire bc of his contract. you can't trade for Bam if KD were to go to Miami. both Bam and Ben have similar contract structure. the Nets put themselves in a corner.

KD is 34 with an injury history, and an overinflated championship pedigree..still think he's an all-time great but 5 first round picks is ludicrous! Especially knowing his salary is ridiculous. Brandon Ingram, and 3 picks is moderate.

It’s honestly like another Ben Simmons situation lol the nets won’t give up kd for something big in return but don’t realize that teams aren’t willing to give up their future young pieces that have showed them promise like the suns, like the wolves, like some other young teams for a 34 year old player who just came off a acl tear injury and has now requested to leave and essentially gave up twice after being the main franchise player of their team(okc and Brooklyn) so I think he and the nets don’t have as much leverage as they think they do it’s almost kyrie thinking ish
