That doctor is on point! Social media has truly screwed up society!!! No one wants to be alone. I found love at almost 50. I stayed single until I knew I was truly ready to give my all to someone after a terrible breakup. Hurt people hurt people! Stay single until it’s right for you but, don’t give up on love all together because you’ve been hurt!

We have the Cinderella complex ie fairy tales. People typically start relationships off in bliss where the deal breakers are often seen as cute until they're not. My cousin was married to an abuser for 12 years. She had a fractured relationship with her dad, her mom accused her of enticing her step dad, she had a baby at 16 with a disability. So if you don't deal with the baggage than you become indifferent to the slightest thought of a man being any good. Or u end up like my cousin who loves to hate men. She has a very negative perception of men but can't leave them alone because she's a horny toad😊😅😅 and she over extends herself to any man that pays her attention.

It’s unresolved trauma that some adult men bring to relationships. All those experiences from childhood stay harbored within. I bet most adults never confront their childhood abuser, the neglectful parent, etc. Instead the person who becomes the punching bag are their partners unfortunately. What people have to realize is that those children grow up to be adults eventually and if they have an unresolved past more than like they will inflict the same hurt onto the person or people that love them the most. So, now you have black American women that are refusing to be in relationships with black men and vice versa.

Torrei said "Anytime soon" - she never said never.....and that makes sense. She just spent the bulk of her adulthood catering to other people. Her children and her ex...and I don't feel like she's ashamed of that journey because she still bares the name Hart but it sounds like now she want some years to have fun, be selfish, forge her own identity, and do her like she's never been able to. She's only around 45 - mid life crisis age - not saying she's having one, but it's fair to say it's fair for her to figure herself out right now. I also think Torrei may be more into a balanced companionship and those too can be sacred. Everything doesn't have to be registered with the state or brought down in a white dress, but I don't think she's opposed to that. I'm sure she sees how her ex is even treating his new wife.

Statistically, the majority of women who tie the knot end up seeking a divorce down the road. It seems that the institution of marriage has failed to serve women's best interests. Sadly, many women only come to this realization post-marriage vows. Society tends to downplay this truth by discouraging younger women from heeding the advice of their older counterparts and dismissing divorced women as bitter. But, the reality is that divorced women have a clear understanding of marriage, leading many of them to opt out of remarrying unless there are financial gains involved. This isn't about bitterness; it's about the experience of having your rose-tinted glasses removed by way of reality checks..

If you truely love a person then you love the flawed sides lf them as well and you naturally should have the patients to watch them mature in each area. You both should know better that all bad habits will not always be bad habits and ppl change and fix things together as you grow. And you should naturally be feeding off of eachothers greatness and naturally sharpening each other, which subliminally motivates each other naturally to do better! I hate when people have to question happiness. Happiness is whatever you think happiness is at the moment.. it may change from time to time and you should never ask someone else what makes them happy because people are two different people and what makes them happy may not make you happy so enjoy day by day and then just enjoy the moment. That’s not true when they say men cannot be monogamous if that’s what you really want and it doesn’t matter about the sex of the person you have to truly want that.

What I hear a lot of woman saying is they chose others over themselves and are having to essentially learn to do that later on in life. I wish women didn’t feel they needed to be the sacrificial lamb for their partners. Also I feel like a lot of women have not had certain partners and assume every relationship w a man requires you serving meals and folding laundry. Where’s the talk of love and companionship? I feel like don’t talk down on marriage just bc ur experience lacked the lasting power or comparability

Ewww chile! I thought it was just me. I would not give that kind of power over to another human being, not for a second to think they have “finished” me or changed my outlook on loving someone and being loved by someone else! Their mindset: “I gotta love myself” which is true, BUT they stay in that state for 10,000 forevers. Both of their ex spouses have moved on remarried and thriving (appear to be) while they are stuck in a loop. Then convince themselves that “I’m good” never again. It’s just a more graceful bitterness but it’s still bitterness nonetheless. Learn, grow, and love again.

Relationships come into our lives for a reason, a season or a purpose. Some relationships are sent to help you grow beyond your previous self imposed limitations. The toughest are wrought with betrayal only to help expand your vision to grow new wings. We need others to grow and we are designed by God to be in relationships with others. Thus, no man or woman is an island unto themselves.

I have been through some of the worst trauma and I don't believe every man is the same or marriage is off the table. I can't view life this way because I will set myself up emotionally to display that energy towards myself and others. Hopefully for consistent days she can forgive him for what he has done to her and her for what she has done to him. I also think women of success worry about the wrong man sweeping them off thier feet, marrying or marrying again, and possibly ending up paying alimony if the marriage fails. Halle Berry is an example. She let two gorgeous men play in her face because she still believes in love. Hopefully she doesn't with her most recent guy. Just get a prenup before marriage and a NDA immediately upon dating. If the man doesn't want to sign either then he isn't in it for love he is chasing the bag. I agree social media has desensitized people and it's really difficult to find people that are grounded in the work required for a healthy marriage or even the relationship that can lead to marriage. People chase money not God so til death do us part is just words to them.

Humans are attracted to other people than they love doesnt mean you still want to hurt people you love. Being monogamous is still a choice even though its still natural to be attracted to others simply because you dont want lose the person or lose that family. Its always a choice regardless of the natural want to have sex with others. Lets not make men only guilty of this or excuse them as a man is going to be a man. Its humans! women are attracted to other men to have thoughts too.Its just a choice is it worth the risk ....
