Kevin keeping it real. And nothing he said is a secret or a surprise. Anyone getting bent out of shape or calling him jealous simply hasn't been listening or paying attention. Norm took risks no one else would, in comedy and in Las Vegas, because that was who he was, not because he was being calculated or ironic about it.

In fact, Rocket was kicked off SNL just like Norm was. Though he was kicked for dropping an F bomb. I feel like there was an unbroken chain of great anchors all the way up until Jimmy Fallon. That's when the weekend update ended for me.

As much as I liked Norm, Kevin Nealon fit that role perfectly. I think it’s because he played it like he was a serious anchor. It’s just like in the Chippendale’s skit when he’s like, “I wish I could just flip a coin and be done with it, but we can’t…we’re Chippendales.” His sincerity makes it all the more ridiculous. That’s how he played the news anchor.
