Fatih Yıldız depends on what you wanna play. anything over 200 bpm 16th notes usually just sounds like garbage without triggers. if you stay below that you should be good without them. or youre dave lombardo... then youre a god.

I actually really like the overtone-rich ping sound that big bell rides produce when played on the bow. Shame I can't stand those bells that are vital to getting that sound lmao, normal sized raw bells > everything

Regarding the technical aspect.. i think you're right (although i thought this 10-15 years ago after listening to george kollias in nile..) - but you can still write new and great songs i guess? That's why i love Cattle Decapitation for example, they sound quite unique IMO.
