I don’t think I’ve ever done a 180 on a story this quickly. I was so on board when it was just a fun Spidey and Black Cat story. And then just “. . . Nope”

Yeah, though there’s a lot of sexual stuff in the first half that definitely should’ve been toned down a bit (we get it, Black Cat is hot, I think she’s hot and cool character, you don’t have to make her bi and have a masterbation scene in the shower to show why she’s hot, anyone who knows even a little about Black Cat no matter the iteration can tell she’s hot), the first half is pretty tone death with all the drugs and dead bodies mixed in with the Spidey and Black Cat scenes, and it’s pretty badly written. But there are a few decent and fun moments, especially being a guy who likes Spidey and Black Cat interactions and seeing them together, but then we get to the Black Cat almost being raped by the bad guy and that point on, I was like “......Nope”

I agree with what you said. I would also like to add to it. Peter was MARRIED during this book. It shows both Peter and Black Cat in a bad light. Peter keeps having thoughts about Black Cat, they even make out publicly. It just pisses me off that Kevin Smith had the audacity to even think about introducing infidelity to this book on top of whatever garbage was in this book already.

Could've sworn Daredevil/ Bullseye: The Target came out in late 2002. Was meant as a 4 issue miniseries and only the first issue came out. Very heavily steeped as a post 9/ 11 book, starting out with Daredevil staring at ground zero and cursing out the people who did this. As well as Bullseye being hired by some middle-eastern criminals and referring to one of them as Ali Akbar. Oddly enough, when Kevin Smith was on Robert Kirkmans Secret History of Comics and they were discussing 9/ 11 for the episode, that relevant storyline was left out and he was credited as a Spider-Man writer (this being the only Spider-Man book he's ever written). They also discussed the post 9/ 11 Cap book and left out the part where Cap breaks a terrorists neck and reveals his identity to the world right after. No mention of the Ultimate Cap decapitating a costumed Muslim villain with a lightsaber. That episode was incredibly cherry picked with just the anti U.S. government messages. Very selective in what's being remembered.

Kevin Smith does have some awesome ideas and reveals, and is great at creating realistic conversation, but sometimes the characters are a little off model. Also, he seems to have a weird thing with doing weird things to babies in his book...in this one there's the crying baby next to it's dead family...in the daredevil book there's Matt trying to kill the devil baby. Just a weird theme...need to re-read green arrow and look...

Well, I just read the comic, and it's pretty interesting with the natiralistic dialogue and fantastic artwork. However, I have to criticize how Black Cat's traumatic backstory only shows up in the last issue and much of the comic early on hypocritically sexualizes her.
