@@Metalung One night out in the woods riding we passed his church. He told me they got him to put the letters on the sign and he knew how to open it up and change the letters. We went back to his house and took out a pad and paper and brainstormed what we could change the letters to. All I could come up with was "Disco Party 1978 Bring Straw Hair Plugs" and "Apes Will Tow Sap" for the other side. He was on the floor balling, crying from laughing so hard what I came up with, with the letters allready on the sign. We went out later that night and changed the letters and put on his old padlock nobody had a key for, and the next morning Sunday. That was a freakin trip thinking of everyone pulling into church "Apes Will Tow Sap" "Disco Party 1978 Bring Straw Hair Plugs"

Diavlo's are pretty solid amps. I've got it it's 100 watt big brother but I can only use it in a band setting. Having something like this for the at home practice would be pretty killer. Mike Fortin knew what he was doing when he designed these amps.

There's a ton of great low wattage amps right now. The dsl20, the 6505mh, the bassbreaker 15 etc. You really aren't stuck with crappy little practice amps or 120 watt monsters if you want a good tube amp anymore.

This is how I use mine too. Always slaved into another amp’s power section or into a Line Helix and such. Mine has this persistent hum when used on its own coming out of whatever speaker it is connected to. I think it’s a problem with the power section because this hum is never present when I bypass the power section and go into say the return loop of another amp

Are there any band rehearsal/studio rooms to rent in your area? I know it is another cost to add in your personal life. However when you told us all you parted ways with the 6505 combo because you could not achieve the sound/volume compromise being in a apartment, that just kicked me in the nuts my friend. I had the 6505+ combo(same as yours?) when I was living in Iowa and had my own house. Seriously the cost of living and high paying jobs are plentiful there as opposed to living back home in Oregon. So I was able to crank the amp as loud as I wanted and could get the full potential of it without having to any extra gear. So I ask again, are there any businesses that rent out studio rooms to musicians in your area? They are offered in every state in some way. And it is usually the same layout: 24 hour access, security cameras, multiple secured doors, alarm systems etc. Some places are more dumpy with rooms having no heat or A.C. and thin walls. Think storage unit's but for bands. So it can get loud if your neighboring room is jamming. Some are much nicer with climate control and better built rooms. Prices really depends on where you live in my experience. But lets say $200 a month for your own room or share a room with a band for $40-$50 could be a great investment for the channel. And your Riffs!!! By the way....... Awesome little amp haha!

I think he should too. I would get tired of the one dimensional-ness of the 1w version. It’s not just about volume, an amp with no headroom has nowhere to go, no nuance, no punch. The 20 watt version could be played at similar bedroom volume levels but with much more headroom and balls and tonal variation. That said the 1w sounds awesome for what it is

I have a little Blackstar HT1 Metal head and a 1x10 cab. Sounds killer for indoors, but the best purchase I made to get the most out of my louder amps was the Two Notes Torpedo Captor X. Brrooo!!!! I have this amp with the 1x10!!! Its a gnarly little bastard! It was my gateway drug to tube amps! So satisfying! I would rock it with the gain set tp the first or second little circle thing on the graphic behind the dial then boost it with a tubescreamer. If you have ypur EQ in the front raising the output level will probably give you a similar effect. I thought the extra little push and the tubescreamers eq really took that amp to the next level! I rock that amp or a 5150 through a vertical 2x12 with v30s and enjoy it, i can still get the 5150 sounding pretty good through it down to around 80 decibels. Its do able without getting a noise complaint haha. Hope this amp treats you good brotha and appreciate the motley crue riff you snuck in there hahaha

@@techdeathhippie6319 I dont know I hear plenty of different stuff out there. Maybe we just listen to different bands. It's all opinion anyways haha. Whatever sounds good to you is the best. Even the new CC is heavy as fuck with unique tones. They use amp models and real amps. Just depends on where you are recording. But Erik rutan just posted a play through of one of their new songs. His guitar sounds fuckin badass. Definitely heavier than any I've heard for a while. He does it with a mesa duel rec and a jcm 800 or 900 I cant remember exactly. But he has them modeled for using them else where. You can also get good packs you can get some really legit amps and IRs also matter quite a bit. I'd still rather use my engl or 5150 or mesa or 65 super reverb. Lol. Nothing beats feeling the amp push air.

Thanks, I been wondering about 5w/1w Randall! I play Ibanez RG guitars (570,550,& 370 DX) since 89’ and I had been playing last few years through my micro Peavey 6505 Piranha 20 watt w/ 6505 1x8” cab with Digitech “BadMonkey” overdrive pedal in my bedroom. It has all the sounds I personally need and was happy with it still but now interested in Randall Diavlo 1watt or 5 watt was two amps I wanted to buy. Everybody said the 5 watt Randall was what to get; I had recently picked up a Marshall 2x12” cab for cheap. What’s your thoughts on Randall Diavlo 1 watt or 5 watt heads?#🎸🤘🏻🔥

@@bondalero0074 I'd think that having a nice cabinet is pretty crucial to a sound that makes you happy. You could never play with a band with a tiny 1 or 5 watt head but plug them into a 2 12 or a 4 12 cabinet and you will have a great full tone to channel your creativity or just have fun messing around.

I highly recommend doing some sound treatment. That way the neighbors stay sane. Minimal effort, no damage to walls with a estimated cost of under $400 MLV: mass-loaded vinyl is a sound barrier that will reduce sound waves from passing through it. often used under wood and tile flooring in multi-story buildings Closed-cell foam is used to decouple the MLV from wall so sound isnt transfered through contact

I run it into an Orange 2x12 Have you tried the 10band in the loop and see what it can do there? I imagine you can get a lot of different tones outta this thing playing with it in front and in the loop etc The Solar V sounds insane into this little amp haha. So does the Jackson, actually. And the Saw guitar. And the one after that. This is a great little amp, nice dude. I can't wait to hear this through a 2x12. Maybe try an OD pedal boosted, I bet that'd sound fucking good.

@@infection7119 Its all about personal taste i guess. For me i have never been a big fan of Randall or the famous Marshall JCM800. I have owned a Peavy 5150-2 and it was the most brutal amp i have ever played.I wish i never sold it but now i have a Mesa Boogie Triple Crown and it does what i want and more. If your also playing in your bedroom, the type of cabinet you use is a seriously underestimated part of your tone. Most "just ok" amps sound better going through a good old Mesa 212/412 OS Recto. My suggestion would be to search on youtube play through videos and reviews of the amps you are interested in and then weight out their costs and feature sets against each other to determine whats best for you situation. If you looking for a lunch box high gain amp, the Peavy stuff is the best bang for your buck, they have some great tech that can help you easily get your sound into your DAW with or without an interface. I would also look into, Engl, Hughes & Ketter, REVV and a Yamaha THR10x.

Playing my 5 watt through a 412 loaded with eminence 1258 and 1275. My amp will go down to 1 or .1 watt. Even at 1 watt it sounds killer through the 412. I've tried a few cabs from 1/8, 1/12 and a 2/12. 412 is definitely where it's at.
