Hey Kevin, I’m in New Hampshire have a 100% stock banshee got it with 200 mains I’m pretty much at sea level it’s about 30 degrees out I had the bike on the 200 mains all summer everybody said it rides and sounds great I think it sounded rich, now winter at 30 degrees I put 220 mains in the carbs should I go bigger? Or does that sound right. I run 32:1 Honda oil thanks in advance man

my banshee is pushing oil out of the front lower hose while it's running and then when I shut the engine off it keeps pouring out,not from the hose in the back of the crankcase. If you are sitting on the bike it's by your right toe... I rebuilt the entire engine because of this,still doing it. Thanks for all your help Mike
@kevingalindo17 жыл бұрын
Mike Mathews Check the rear vent tube and make absolutely sure it isn't plugged, they do that if the rear one gets plugged. You can also do a vent hose delete too and plug that one off. Still need to make sure back one is clear though. Search my channel for a "vent hose delete"

South Texas Banshee the previous owner must have done a vent hose case delete... but they didn't block off the one you blocked off and that's the one leaking on my bike. that hose is just dangling? Thanks Mike
@kevingalindo17 жыл бұрын
Mike Mathews Ah, That's why it's leaking, it needs to be run up high. You can either cap it or run it uphill like up the rad support and hang it in the look with the can can vent tube. Right now The fluid is just siphon feeding out. Make sure it isn't over full.

If your having to lean out the needle all the way, does that mean you need a smaller main? My WOT sounds crisp and lots of power but mid is still a bit late and clip is at the top already If it helps my mods are 4mil stock cyl +4degree Pods with outwears Coolhead domes cut for 91oct HJR dune port I talked to him he recommended 27.5, 330mains, middle position but plug looked a bit grey with 330 so went to 340
@kevingalindo17 жыл бұрын
Jorge Pineda Are you using a stock needle? The 5N7? You could try a 6 groove needle by dyno-jet/Toomey on the 4th from top and see what that does. You need to be careful that you don't lean the midrange out too much. Would be a good idea to set the throttle stop at 1/4 throttle or a little more and plug chop it. Put in new plugs and take off right away and hold it against the stop for a good 30 seconds. Pull the plugs, put in the old and cut'em and see how you look.

How do you do it when the cable is 2 centimeters long
@coreychelko28728 жыл бұрын
hey I have a 2000 Yamaha banshee. I think my jetting is pretty good but mid range bogs a tad. I have a boost bottle, k&n airfilter in OEM air box with the vents drilled in, tors eliminator kit, cool head with 20cc domes, bored .50 over, vforce 3 reeds with aluminum spacers, Toomey t-5 full exhaust and im at 1000ft above sea level. I ride in the summer and fall only so between 50_90 degree weather. never seen snow or anything. I was curious if you could help me with jetting? like a guess as to what's best. I only run 93 and golden spectro mixed 40:1 and b8es ngk plugs. I think currently I have a 300 main, needle is on 4thclip and pilot is 30. love your videos! big help!
@coreychelko28728 жыл бұрын
also very hard to start unless i bump it. choke doesn't stay out, leaks gas out of carbs through the overflow vent. I just want it to run smooth and start up like it should. once I start it up and ride it, it will kick start just fine. sorry for all the info!

280 mains should put you in the ball park, needle clip in middle and 27.5 pilots 2 turn out on air screw. see where that gets you. you want be lean, I can tell you that.

My banshee has a pretty nice hesitation when I throw her in 1st and when I take off I have to Rev it waaaay too much but right after that at a little under half throttle she's good from there and she'll idle all day it's just when I throw her in gear she acts like she wants to cut off PLEASE HELP BY THE ITS A FULL STOCK BANSHEE BUT I THINK THE OWNER BEFORE ME DID SOMETHING IN THE CARBS
@kevingalindo17 жыл бұрын
willydabike2 Bet money you need bigger pilot jets man. What's in it now? Close the air screws up quite a bit and see if it helps at all. If the idle slows down, just bring it up with the idle screws.

If the compression is at 115 on a banshee is that bad?
@kevingalindo16 жыл бұрын
Jose Collazos is the engine had a stick head. No that’s fine. If you’ve got a cool Head and smaller domes than that can mean you have ring wear

What groove do you recommend placing the needle and if I’m about to place in 27.5 and 320 jets ?????
@kevingalindo16 жыл бұрын
Beto Navarrete The middle groove should be fine, if anything you’ll need to run it on 4th from the top.
