His hourly rate is worse than that. If he worked 144 hours in two weeks in any other field he'd be getting overtime after 40 hours each week. 80 hours would pay the regular normal rate, and the remaining 64 hours of the total 144 hours would be paid at a rate of a minimum of 1.5x (time and a half rate), more usually with a weekend premium (2x, 2.5x, or even 3x). But at the lowest rate of 1.5x, he'd get paid as if he worked 96 hours for that additional 64 actual hours (64 x 1.5 = 96). So his total hours paid would be 80 + 96 = 176. The high-end estimate of his after-tax, per-hour rate is $1,954.94/176 = *$11.10/hour.*
