Recently I've been shooting boxing match too, shooting for my employer. I do sports from time to time. I've also had a film camera in my bag, an Olympus OM1n, so out of pure curiosity, I've done some pictures with it too (something I've not done in a long, long time), and they came out great. ISO 400 only mind you. But with that said, the venue was well lit with daylight. For boxing, autofocus is not a necessity. It might be for a 100m runner that's coming your way. But 8fps, yeah, that's always welcome...

I'm not a professional sports photographer, but I found the AF invaluable for the shots other than when they were basically standing, staring at each other. Anything with "punches" or movement, I certainly relied on the AF.

@@kevin_mullins Fair enough, I've been shooting sport well in the time of film, and actually before autofocus became mainstream, so I guess that's already in my blood...

Wow ! Fantastic images! Did you use continuous autofocus or spot focus single point?

AF on 100SII (same as 100II) is so much better than 100S. Night and day. Easily track walking subject at 1.7 and get 90%+ in tack focus

The AF on the 100 II is different (and better, according to Fujifilm) than the 100SII. That said, I've not tried the 100S II so can't really compare personally.

No longer a Fuji shooter but I still watch your videos because they're so good! Quick Q - where did you get your studio backdrops from?

Thanks for hanging around. The backdrop in this video is from @clickprops8380 in the UK. - clickprops.co.uk/

I love my X Iro 2 and I am hoping that for an X Pro 4 PLEASE as I'm sure you are. Excellent images. .....The world may be colour but black and white transcends it. Abbas Attar

Thank you Kevin - always appreciate your thoughtful take on things photgraphic. That I am still routinely wowed by the files from my X-H2 makes it difficult to justify a GFX. But this doesn't stop me from wanting one!

Impressive AF? For a MF camera, maybe. But compared with every standard AF system, Fujifilms is just a nightmare. Unreliable eye and face AF. The AF of the GF lenses is slow and in too many cases noisy. It would be an immense achievement if Fujifilm could reach in 2025 the AF performance Sony had in 2022. Too late for me, as I am now leaving the XF system. Thought about the GFX system ... but only a very short time, as this AF system would kill any kind of fun.

AF System is fine, especially on the X Series. Most people who fail to get the most don't use it properly or spend enough time figuring out how to use it. I've shot in excess of 700 weddings with the X-Series and unless the cameras I've had have got magic farries in them, the AF has been perfectly fine. For me, at least, the art of photography is in the seeing and the creative process. I have no desire to have a machine that just grabs onto an eye and then shoot hundreds of frames per second. YMMV of course.
