It's not a scam if you (the wearer, giver, or viewer) think the value of the ring is important. I infer that not even you wants to go around announcing that in the moment I agree with your premise of it being a scam, you're just in the wrong area. The scam begins with how human beings value things, we would be in a very different society if people spent less money on rings, weddings, and vacations and more money on local taxes, asset investments, and productivity hobbies But we don't live in that society. In this society you can literally lose your fiancé with the wrong ring. Luckily for your husband, you're not one of those people 🙂

As a dog lover and a dog owner, I get why these folks made the sacrifice to give their dog the best possible care in its old age. Luckily they were able to afford it. The joy you get from a beloved pet is priceless. Pet insurance is a good way to offset these types of high veterinarian costs though. More pet owners should consider this.

Might be including delivery fees (Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc). In the city and at some of your trendy, health-conscious places, I can see easily spending that $14 per person for breakfast and lunch everyday. A fancy coffee, tea, or smoothie can easily be $4-7. A salad or sandwich is $6-10. Get 4 of those everyday, and it quickly adds up.

PET INSURANCE PEOPLE!!!! If you get it when the dog is about 5 as long as that dog has an issue like this in the future the insurance pays by itself. You can push it to later it might just be a bit more expensive and you might take more risk but that depends on each person. You guys would be paying about $100/month instead of $1k/month
@markanon89143 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about this. The average cost of insurance is more than the average cost of treatment (most dogs don't get cancer), because obviously insurance companies need to make money. That may be worth it for things you can't afford, like medical or car insurance, or maybe animal insurance if you're poorer. But they can easily afford to pay directly, so why the insurance?
@IReapZz953 жыл бұрын
@@markanon8914 I don't think you are right. I've been running a pet care business for the past 5 and a half years and I've run the math.... it's very likely that your dog will get attached by another at some point, have a car accident, infections, start taking regular pills when they get older, eat something and need a stomach cleanup, etc. The insurance can cover all of that and I see it on a daily basis on the clients that have it vs the ones that don't
@markanon89143 жыл бұрын
@@IReapZz95 If insurance is cheaper than paying directly, then either the insurance company is losing money, or they're getting discount rates, right? Or how is it possibe? Don't get me wrong, I believe you that the people who visit you for something serious are better off with insurance. But how many people you don't see with insurance are sitting at home with healthy pets?
@IReapZz953 жыл бұрын
@@markanon8914 I've seen it too often at this point. All dogs have something in their lives for which insurance is very useful unless your dog lives in a home, goes out in a yard and doesn't get socialized with people or other dogs which is a mistake in itself.... getting out of the pandemic is going to be very tough and costly for a lot of families with new pets since they won't have learned to socialize and play with others (increasing the probability of fights occurring) and will most likely have separation anxiety for which some needs medication (another reason to have the insurance that covers that). A healthy dog can get a puncture at some point that gets infected, have sensitive skin, a stomach issue or any of the issues above if its a dog that was added to the family during the pandemic. When they get older most dogs need regular meds also and that just by itself is more expensive than the insurance itself. I personally work with Figo pet insurance and we pay less than $200 for a 13 year old shih tzu (she is considered high risk at that age and since she had cancer with a $10k operation for which we paid $1k or less) and a 3 year old great dane (that is more expensive than the shih tzu was because of the size and other health-related problems with the breed). Depending on the breed you have insurance should just be required. For example, having an English bulldog without any pet insurance is asking for trouble because as unfortunate as it is they have a LOT of health issues. Muts and mixes are a complete hit or miss although their breed mixes should also play a part in the decision
