Really enjoyed that, thank you. Having rewatched all your dehydration videos, I’ve just bought a pressure cooker! Buy the cook book people, it’s great.

I did, not my usual thing but I thought I would try the freeze-dried option. It was good but a few of the bigger pieces didn't completely rehydrate.

Pretty awesome getting to do the falls chain when the border is closed! Hard work getting in since that is normally accessed through the US side. Well worth the work you went through to come in from the south. I’d bet you pretty much had the place to yourself.

Great trip i enjoyed watching. Also im interested in your book, bought it in kindel version but found the text all mangled together enough that it couldn’t be read easily. I returned it but wanted to bring it to your attention that the digital version may need looking into see what if anything is wrong. Maybe it was my download or computers. Both my computer and kindel e reader read the book text as mangled text so who knows. Im excited to read the book otherwise as your dehydrated stuff sounds great. Thanks

Spanish chicken looks good... What was stuck in the Little Falls? A canoe?
@KevinOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Yes that was a canoe in the shot. The canoe is actually at Kennebas Falls, the last falls in the chain. Either they missed the landing or their boat got loose and drifted down. Either way, somebody had a very bad day.

I am surprised Quetico allows drones. They are strictly banned in the BWCAW. Did you get permission from the Superintendent? From the Ontario Parks website: "A Remotely Piloted Aircraft System, more commonly referred to as a drone, is an aircraft. Aircraft (including drones) cannot be taken into or operated in a provincial park without authorization from the park superintendent." I had several drones buzzing me recently at White Pocket in Arizona, very irritating.
@ryanhines28573 жыл бұрын
Kevin stated early on in the first video they had spoken with the Park Superintendent to figure out how they would get in to access the South side of Quetico. I reviewed the Quetico rules and it states “Drones: Requires permission from the park superintendent.” Seeing as that they spoke to him I’m willing to bet he got permission to use the drone getting that footage. I’m also certain since that portion of the park is pretty empty right now that they didn’t bother anyone getting that great footage of all the different falls. When the border opens again I am definitely planning on doing a trip through the falls chain and up into Kawnipi lake and into Kawa Bay! Had a hugely successful trip in college with a buddy into that area and it’s a trip need to repeat. Ryan

Hi Kurt, I made a comment in the description about drone usage. If you ask Ontario Parks they will tell you that they are not allowed but they have not 'restricted' the airspace with Transport Canada they way that National Parks have. I don't fly my drone around people and normally wouldn't even bring it to Quetico but with almost zero people there this year I figured it was a good opportunity.
@KurtPapke3 жыл бұрын
@@KevinOutdoors Thanks Kevin. I feel very conflicted over drone use. On one had, I value the nice shots that can only be obtained that way. OTOH, they can be very intrusive in wilderness areas. I think it would be good policy for all Creators to do what you've done and be transparent about any restrictions/permits in the areas in which they are flown.
@KevinOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kurt, I am conflicted too about drones. Great shots but you can really ruin the experience for some people off if you aren't careful. In the 8 days we were in the park we saw only three other boats. You won't see other people in my drone shots because when I put it up I look around and ensure I don't see other parties - if I did see someone it would go down right away. You also won't see any shots high above eagle or osprey nests (especially this time of year), although we saw several on our trip, it would have made great video but disturbing nests isn't a thing I would do, but some people probably would.

One question is the cook book only for dehydrated meals or can it be normal meals as well????
@KevinOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Great question. The recipes are intended to be dehydrated but they work great if you don't put them in the dehydrator. Usually cut back a little on the amount of onions and spices by 1/2 as they tend to loose volume and flavor in the dehydration process. The book has other sections devoted to baking in the backcountry and on pots and stoves.

Sorry, gotta ‘thumbs down’ an otherwise lovely video due to drone use in a provincial park. The justification is weak. One person bending the rules just gives justification to the next.
@KevinOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the views and the comments. I will say that no rules were broken. The airspace over Provincial Parks has not been restricted as it has over National Parks. And, if the 'flying machine' is less than 260g then it is not a 'drone' and therefore those aviation rules don't apply. Having said that, I still wouldn't fly anything near people or animals.
