I really have to commend you Kevin on what you have done with the camper a great job all round. If you could get some of that aluminum molding that around the door and fit it around the visor it would not be going anywhere. Great job Mate.

I think they look fantastic!!!! however when they're use for the sunroof the wind would go right over it. with them orientated the way that you need them I would be afraid that the wind will catch and pull them off. I understand your thought about not wanting to put screws in it but I'd rethink it. please don't take my comment as being negative I enjoy your channel and your projects it's just my opinion. I like the idea of it... but IF I do it, will be mounted on the opened side, not top. that way, when driving, the windows, can remain open partially, allowing airflow, with no rain getting in. It more uses the idea of the sunroof it was designed for. lt might not look right tho... gonna really think it over, Thanks for the idea !

@@Robinson-Homestead not talking about the screws. Any breeze and the rain will still come in under the vent cover. Too bad Maxair isn't still making those louvered window vents especially for horizontal sliding windows.

Good idea Hatch Good execution Kevin I probably would of screwed a couple pan heads in it for redundancy but opinions are like buttholes. We all Have one but only need to worry about our own. They all told me not to drill into my Kayak but had to put my anchor dolly on, move the rod holders etc. the right Screw and a dab of silicone and it's good to go, even in salt water. 👍🏻

These automotive sunroof wind deflectors used in your project are a failure due to the fact that they are made for curved automotive roofs and the tension to rebound off a flat surface will always remain therefore it is required to use screws for mounting regardless of what type of adhesive tape is used. Also the curve at the bottom front edge leans inward toward the trailer wall which directs the water inward toward the window which defeats its initial purpose of keeping the window dry. There are other flaws which I will not get into here but I wanted to warn others that you are wasting your time and money if you try this. How do I know? Because I tried it. I am just surprised Kevin that you did not leave a comment of your rain guards performance which I know failed to keep the window dry.
@Robinson-Homestead
@Robinson-Homestead 6 жыл бұрын
if you had watched all my videos you woulld have seen that i put screws in them and as far as the windows being wet they were fine .i also said that if there was a big rain storm they probally would not work as well,if it is drizzling its ok to let the windows open just to get some fresh air..thank you for you comment.
@wally1957
@wally1957 6 жыл бұрын
I watched your entire video and know that you put screws in them but no one wants to drill holes in the side of their RV. that's what they made 3M automotive or 3M VHB adhesive tape for but you have to screw yours in because their is constant tension to spring back due to it's curved automotive roof shape. I am not here to give you a bad time just stating some facts and frankly I just wanted to comment so that your viewers are aware that these automotive sunroof wind deflectors are not designed for this type of project and the deflectors direct the water inward (due to the inward curve at the bottom lip) toward the window which defeats your initial goal. Again I tried this and it did not work as intended and is a waste of money and time. I would hate to see someone else screw holes in their RV only to find out that these sunroof wind deflectors don't work as intended for this type of project. These sunroof deflectors only protect the top window frame and not the entire window.
