A QUICK FIX (no disassembly) to this problem is to use compressed air to clear any debris blocking the sensor. Open the ADF cover, and then Lift up on the hinged ADF assembly, partly exposing the white plastic cover (the part that Kevin touches with the screwdriver at 1:01). With the extension straw in an office duster, or using compressed air, BLOW into the crack HARD. Over two years, this has worked to clear out the debris two times, saving me from the hassle of disassembly.

I'm pretty sure this is the same thing for my old and dusty MFP1536 from 2010, even more so because I spotted a spider trying to make itself at home underneath the ADF last week. Spring is awesome :) Thanks for posting!

Thank you for the great video, Kevin. I'm trying to do this on an HP 8715 which is slightly different: I only found 6 screws on top, two screws and two plastic clamp holders on bottom. No metal piece on bottom. I can't separate the ADF yet to access the switch and sensor. What am I missing?

Hello Kevin! I have an Hp 9015e and its giving me the same problem except that its showing paper jam under the separation pad of the ADF where the original paper comes out. I dont seem to find any paper jammed, do you have directions on how to solve "paper jam" in this area? I dont want to disassemble without actually knowing what I am looking for. Thank you so much for your videos!

I have a HP 9015, and was able to adapt the directions to that in order to separate the components, but it looks like in my model the plastic that blocks the light from crossing the sensor is more direct, so that's not broken. But it also doesn't seem to make it as easy to remove the ribbon cable. Do you have directions on how to remove the ribbon cable from the ADF? I'd like to by a replacement from your site, but only if I can figure out how to swap it. Thanks!

Hi Kevin I have the HP LaserJet PRO MFP M225 dw. The ADF does not pick up the paper with the error message of Mispick. I cleaned the pickup rollers and separation pad with distilled water as suggested in the manual. I noticed when I pressed scan, the rollers didn't move. The scanner belongs to my workplace. I do not want to poke around too much. Do you think the problem is the sensor? Would you do a video on this model? I have to use a Microsoft Office scanner on my phone to scan documents now. 😐

Did this happen right after an update? I have the same model and after an update and restart I got the ADF error. There wasn’t even paper close to the feeder let alone stuck in it. The only thing I haven’t tried is taking it completely apart like the video..:😢😢😢 I had read a couple of other posts with people having the same problem with this model after the update.

@@DulyNoted505 I did not know about this I currently have an HP 9015e giving me that paper jam trouble. only that its showing paper jam under the separation pad of the ADF and I cant figure how to solve it

I know this is an older video, but can you fool or bypass the ADF sensor? I don't need the tray feeder to work - I just need to print. Can it be bypassed in software, or can it be bypassed mechanically i.e. disconnecting or covering the sensor. I have a 9012e. Thanks.

I just fixed my 8025 by putting masking tape between the sensor legs. It's working fine so far

Thanks for subscribing to my channel! With around 55K subscribers, I’m working hard to reach the 100K milestone, and every subscriber like you makes a huge difference. I really appreciate your support and for sharing your question-it’s viewers like you who keep this channel thriving! Paper jams on the Epson ET-16600 are a common frustration, but there are a few things you can check. Start by ensuring that the paper you're using meets the printer's recommended specifications. Using paper that’s too thick, warped, or the wrong size can lead to frequent jams. Also, double-check that the paper is loaded correctly, with the guides snug against the edges to prevent it from shifting during feeding. If you notice dust or debris on the paper tray or feed rollers, clean them gently with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of water to help improve paper feeding. If the problem continues, inspect the printer’s interior for any scraps of paper or obstructions, especially in the rear or duplexer area. Always power off the printer before trying to clear any jams to avoid causing further damage. Additionally, check if your printer's firmware is up to date, as updates can sometimes resolve feeding or sensor-related issues. If these steps don’t fix the issue, the problem could be mechanical, such as worn feed rollers or a sensor malfunction, which may require professional repair. If you have more questions, feel free to reach out at support@bchtechnologies.com, or post your question on one of my most recent videos (not shorts) for a quicker response. Thanks again for being part of the community, and I hope this helps resolve the issue!

This didn't work for me. I bought the part (ADF Assembly), non returnable of course, and replaced it, but the error code persisted. Maybe this video's only purpose is to sell parts.
