Paper Jam In the ADF Automatic Document Feeder HP Officejet 5740 8040 Envy 7640

If your printer shows you a problem with the ADF feeder unit paper jam, it usually is a simple fix. Remove all documents and check out points shown in this video to inspect.
This is an HP Officejet 5740 printer, but it is a similar fix on most HP Officejet, Laserjet, and Envy all in one printers.

Thanks bro! It's funny you said something about moving the printer because I actually had to move the table that was sitting on and the printer because I had my carpets cleaned. Obviously the sensor must have got stuck I did everything that you said clean the rollers check the sensor and put everything back and now it works. When I was searching for this problem your video popped up first. So appreciative of you putting out that video. I would have end up calling HP and they probably would have charged me for trying to diagnose the printer. that's a lot of help and to anybody out there that's watching this video it's solved my problem just like he said again a lot of thanks!

Thank you. I couldn't figure out how to open the area where the ADF rollers were. I kept pushing mechanism in. It turns out (as you have shown), you have to snap it out.

what about opening the back. looks like there is paper in the back. can the back of the printer be opened?

It can be a a roller that needs cleaning on the ADF assembly.

followed this video,still doesnt work.error message "remove and install the indicated ink catridge making sure it is correctly installed and then touch ok" comes up nonstop no matter what.tried everything.
