Another utuber had a vid emphasizing on programming the esc. Appeared to resolve the cogging as he was testing it in thick grass. Idk how accurate it was , but it may resolve that cog issue ✌️

I've had a few GoolRC ESCs that had the same problem. Besides it not being sensored, I wonder if the ESCs are defaulted to some sort of soft start thats making the problem worse...unfortunately I've never been able to figure out how to program them with the transmitter, but there are programming cards for them.

Card did not help my Surpass hobby ESC settings, they are basically the same company I believe.

Cogging is an issue but overall the version 2 brushless really rips even on 2s. I wish you would have bashed it to see how tough it is. Mine has held up quite well and parts are not that hard to get. I fairly certain that RedCat drive shafts are better than the stock ones. Really that's about all that has went bad on mine.

The cogging is because its over geared and the new v2 has geared down and don't cog as much anymore, I don't have that version of car I have the 124017 v2 and it works fine

It is wltoys, it's the same company as I bought a wltoys 124017v2 and it says XK not wltoys on the box. So they have either changed their name or wltoys is owned by XK racing

The range with the new rx in the brushless car is terrible, many are reporting this as well as the cogging. Even on 3s it still cogs badly especially on grass.

@@funkygas I think the surpass hobby 3650 3600kv esc and motor kk series is the newest and best, 3600 I think would be best for all around bashing. Sense like it would be better to just buy the 124019 then upgrade for not the same price. I just like the blue if the 124017 much better than the purple

Hello. I've got 2 trx4s and can say tyres are probably the first upgrade to make depending on what you're doing with it. The next things to upgrade are the cross members to aluminium, it'll remove a lot of chassis flex. After that drive it a lot before changing anything else, you may spend money for no reason. Have fun and drive safe. 😃👍
