Forgiveness does require we address our abuser with the truth. As an expert in narcissistic abuse recovery I have found it detrimental to teach victims blind Forgiveness. As Christians we are to use the word of God to rebuke wickedness and in love openly hold an abuser accountable. In this way we also are gifting an opportunity for a narcissist to repent as well as standing firm in what is righteous and in courage. This is important as narcissistic abuse is about dominance and control. Forgiveness in the right context will not only release a a victim from the soul tie with a narcissist but rebuild your character as a child of the Most High.

@@DrPhilGoode God heals 100%. I wouldn't say I had an extreme case compared to some but definitely narc tendencies that affected most aspects of my personality and the treatment of my husband. I immediately asked for his forgiveness post deliverance. Believe what you want.

@@seanafair76 I do appreciate your honesty on the possible severity compared to others but I think that part is what needs to be understood. We all have times of low level narcissistic traits. That’s human being 101 and I think we can both agree on that. Most creator self help narc content on KZbin and other platforms is aimed at learning about the behavioral characteristics of narcissistic individuals. Individuals with (in this example) a cluster b personality disorder such as NPD. (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). Folks with NPD don’t have the emotional maturity and stability required to face their disorder enough to even notice it. But thats mostly irrelevant. The MAIN job responsibility of NPD is to protect the disordered individual from knowing he or she is disordered. That is crazy fascinating and crazy terrifying to me all at the same time. NPD is created from and in childhood trauma and “perfected” by adulthood. That personality (NPD) is who they are 24/7 365. They aren’t sitting around refusing to fix their known narc behaviors. Those behaviors are the engine that will power the rest of their life. The reason self aware narcissists are SO rare is they don’t possess skills to be self reflective. Their own narcissism works overtime to prevent themselves from seeing their own narcissism. A narcissists brain is physiologically different from non narcissists. Like a child born with Down syndrome or born with an arm or leg defect. Can God heal a child’s stub arm they’ve had since birth? Sure he can. Is there even one documented time in human history when He has grown a child’s arm out to full size? No. Has God every healed and taken away down syndrome leaving a “normal” child in their place? No. Even self-aware narcissist will be the first to tell you they still have the disorder. All they can do is get professional help and slowly work on different aspects of how they react to their own disorder. There has never been a documented 360 change since NPD was added to the DSM-5. The reason I say all that is this. The worst thing a person in a narcissistic relationship can do is hold out hope that the abusive and toxic behavior can change. In fact, the narcissist uses a tactic called “future faking” in which they shed tears and promise change and improvement with no intention of following through. They use it to control the victim and manipulate them into staying in the relationship where the abuse cycle will continue for years, sometimes decades. Ten years ago I was the one reading comment sections like this searching for anything I could find that would tell me something I knew wasn’t true. I lived in denial for over a decade that my wife’s behavior was abusive and unacceptable. Always giving her the grace that healing was possible. While never seeing any proof that she had any interest in getting better. But I can’t be surprised when someones narcissism is preventing them from being less narcissistic. If they had the ability to improve and change, they wouldn’t be narcissistic in the first place. Thank you for your time.

Dido, unfortunately. It took me many years to learn and understand what narcissism is. I've had to learn what real love is and how to receive it still and I'm in my 60' S now. The first step to being free is believing the Truth. The Truth is that a narcissist that rejects Christ cannot and will not love you. It doesn't matter if they are your Spouse for 50 years or your Parent. They do not and cannot love you. Stop expecting good treatment from them and see them as they are. God will be with you, you dont need anyone else but Him. After facing the hard Truth, submit yourself to God for healing and live you life in Him.

My mom will go to church on Sunday and come home and watch creepy movies, expect others to do for her if she does something for someone, she is very good at manipulating, she is a different person around different people. She asked me why do think I don't love you? And before I could get out it's the way you love me. She said I was so hoping you were a girl so you could help me with the others. And sure enough I was the kid that was an adult before my time.

There are Scriptures of Him covering us like a hen covers her chick's, being gentle with us like a breastfeeding Mother and so many more. I would encourage you to read all the passages about God comparing Himself to a Mother and just what it says about Motherhood in general. You may have to grieve the loss of never having a Mom but that when God promises He will "take you up". "If Mother and Father forsake you, I the Lord will take you up" Psalms 27:10. Let Him heal and take care of you. The word "take" in Hebrew can mean a life long covenant or promise. Look up key words in Hebrew when you read the scripture. If there is more than one meaning, they are all correct!! That the Beauty and richness of The Word ❤️

The narc cheats. He lies. Steals. Destroys. Just like Satan. 1st Cor Ch 6, I think, around 6:15-20 is very clear on what your body is--a temple for the Holy Spirit that you are not to treat your body in a profane way. I think you are probably not supposed to marry again after leaving hubby I he's alive, but you don't need to stay there. Narcissists have a love deficit, don’t know how to love, and only understand manipulation and controlling a person they say they love, in order to keep them in their life. Showing them how to love does NOT help them learn. Rather, distance yourself from them, and don’t respond, or at least don’t allow yourself to feel or give any emotional response. Be wise. This was so freeing! 10 of 14 years of being trapped into thinking that I was insane, not good enough, never doing anything right, weak, spineless, dumb, being told that I need help to think, rudeness, disrespectful, mentally abused, verbally abused, infidelity & the list goes on & on & on. Yes. I forgive the offender in the name of Jesus and I release him and let him go to God. I dont keep records of wrongs now but now God is keeping the records and he is taking care of EVERYTHING. I'm trusting God with that. I label the offense as demonic, file it and hand over the records to Holy Spirit and he gives them to my lawyer, Jesus, and Jesus takes my cases to his father in Heaven who is the judge. It is rigged in my favor. Now God is keeping the records and I am doing the releasing and the forgiving. What a breath of FRESH AIR.😅

This was a wonderful enlightening message. I had to tell my cheating, verbally abusive, critical narcissist husband to leave in January and filed for a divorce. He was exactly as you described but when i married him almost 3 years ago he pretended to be the godly family man I wanted but showed his true colors 3 months later and hid his adultery from me. Please pray that God will heal my heart from the emotional trauma. I had to have several heart procedures from that horrible experience. It felt like I was married to the devils brother. This is so very helpful. I believe God will make me whole. When seeing a psychiatrist after a breakdown, he diagnosed me with chronic depressive disorder. That spiralled me into a 4 year long deeply depressed mind. I found Kevin’s teaching and for three years of filling my soul with Godly, spiritual teaching, and with my online therapist(Christian), the Lord is renewing my mind. I know and am filled with Holy Spirit. My mind is very vulnerable and tender. I now am in the habit of making sure I am fully equipped with the Armour of God each and every day. My new best friend just revealed the Narc ugly head while we were at a 4 day revival meeting. The good news is, my hearing was healed at that meeting. Many times an abusive childhood leaves us prey for a narcissistic spouse as that evil spirit is attracted to those of us who had these types of childhoods. So like Captain Kevin says here, the key to freedom in Christ is to know we are not victims any longer. Otherwise that evil spirit will continue to eviscerate us emotionally through our spouses or narcissistic parents into our adult years. Also, like Dr. Kevin brings out, their sense of entitlement ("What have you done for me lately?") sends yet another message that they are the only ones who matter. I learned it's easier to forgive if we pray to see them through God's eyes when can see them as broken - usually because of having a childhood themselves where their valid emotional needs were not met.

You know this is so true! I have ministered to the homeless and have a heart toward the addicted and homeless and downtrodden. The lockdown destroyed the first business venture with a partner that would have made me fully invested within 10 years. Last summer trying that again to get a business going so that I could also perform my ministry through it and get away from a relationship. Have to be spiritually healthy to be able to help others. Doing things keeping it seriously simple aka KISS taking care of yourself first leads you in the right direction. God does not want you to idolize your house. Your house attention is what have you weak and as you say your husband who you say is narcissistic, not knowing and having a relationship with God doing things that upsets you. I am 66 years and five days as of my comments. I have been married 39 years as of December 31, 2022. My husband is in a nursing home. In my opinion I think God and him are having moments together. It is not easy owning a home and being married to a narcissist. I use to own two homes in another city. I gave them up. It seemed crazy and bizarre, and my husband tripped very much as well as many others, but I actually been more free ever since. Searching for truths of God’s ways has been my journey. I live alone renting and watch KZbin videos of various sorts and listen and learn and be aware of what’s going on in this world. Since I was a little girl, I studied instrumental music and played clarinet. As years went on I played piano. Singing was a gift I was born with and have been singing ever since. I managed to get a recording studio business and did my own original, copyrighted songs playing the instrumentals and doing the lead and background harmony vocals as well as the engineering. I also self-taught Videography/Editing skills and had a great business. I still have my equipment in a storage. 99% of my songs were created because of my narcissistic husband. I still love him and am by his side taking care of all of his medical cares and personal finances. God has been with me every step of the way. I have learned so much being abused, but it has made me stronger, wiser and better. Afterall, I too was born a sinner and have used my God-given abilities and skills to defend myself using my voice and my actions. I was naive, but I refused to die being a coward. Thanks for reading my comments. I pray you find peace which comes from God. As females we are not to be taken advantage of by males or anyone else. God made me in his image and likeness and God ain’t letting nothing or nobody abuse him or control him. That’s how I am living the rest of my living moments till I die. I met my partner 5 years on our first date he said his wrakness was control. I didnt understand what that meant, i just brushed it off. See i had been single for 7 years by this time devoted to Christ. I remember, the first night i visited his place, i had a vision and i saw a young boy of 10/11years scared, he kept running from me and hiding under the bed. I followed him and prayed for him to come out from underneath the bed, he did and he was still scared, shaking, and he out the house and i prayed chasing after him, and as i was praying he became a HUGE man he inflated and i continued to pray and eventually he blew and the young boy came back and he was fine and he looked me in the eye. See i have been with my partner now for 5 years and only now im understanding narcissism. I recently had a dream that he was so Angry with me, i was so scared. The same night we fought and broke we have seen each other for 6 weeks. I know he will come back, and In the meantime God is making me pray for him., Intercede for him. I speak from experience, I was married to a man “A Christian” for 12 years. He completely broke me. God does not lie, He will deliver you and your children. I kept fighting in the spirit and God came through. How? Because I stood on His promises and defeated the enemy right before my eyes!
