As a white Australian who's never visited places like this, it's made me realise why Black JOY matters, and why it's important to never shut it down. You've got over 5 MILLION kids who fall into this "category", and all of a sudden, people think it's justified to just break their hearts and possibly traumatise them... WHY? We all need to go back to the basics about being human, things that the first humans learnt long before society even existed. Why, you ask? Because I believe it's one of the main keys to dismantle learnt hatred and actually move forward. We need PROPER EDUCATION in schools, education that isn't brought to you by the letters R, A, C, I, S and M, and I'm saying that to Australia as well. Stay strong, everyone. At a scheduled meet and greet, my family experienced a similar situation with "Abby" when she ignored my niece, a black child, one in the midst of a crowd of white children. Time and again my niece tried to get her attention, and time and again Abby motioned for her to wait with her hands. My sister noticed and approached Abby about it, but Abby gestured to the large crowd of children--communicating to her that my niece wasn't the only child there. At the time it made sense, so when my sister told the rest of the family what was happening, we all agreed that she should let it go--especially since Abby eventually interacted with my niece. But now that we see that other black children are consistently ignored, mistreated, and physically accosted--nothing can convince me "Abby's" actions were not intentional. Ooh I wish we unleashed on "her." At the very least, you can bet our annual trip to Sesame Place will never happen again. EVER.

@A O I fully understand the prejudice that people are capable of! I grew up in LA back in the sixties I have seen it all my life. I lived in a black/mexican neighborhood. I knew about police brutality years before the Rodney King "episode" happened. I am of Mexican ancestry and we have experienced lots of racism. I was speaking that as a grandmother of my beautiful granddaughter it would cause so much emotion (anger mostly) for my little one to have experienced meaness simply because of race and skin color. I can fully understand and don't need to be black myself or my granddaughter be 100% black to understand. This video was disgusting and heartbreaking... And yes, I have a heart. I don't know if I explained myself good enough to you but I am done.
