I snatched myself a Help Desk Level 1 job that pays pretty great (20$ an hour with a chance of going as high as 24$ an hour after a year of working) and is a government job. That said I know almost NOTHING about computers. Literally nothing. After watching your video and REALLY analyzing it (I literally spent hours watching and re watching your video and slowing the speed down to memorize steps you took cuz I didnt even know how to properly use control panel lol) I ended up doing great on my first month on the job. Of course there were tons of times that I got lost but luckily because I was an entry level I was expected to re direct many issues to my seniors / more experience IT people but I am so glad you made this. I helped reset passwords, fix internet connection issues, a few keyboard solutions etc...Still feel like I am too much of an amateur to be working this job but most jobs are a "learn as you go" type of thing. Again thanks so much for this video. Literally the best intro to IT / Level 1 Help Desk vids out there.

@@evelynnveleni I'm so sorry about that! Sadly I learned a long time ago that sometimes skills matter less then impressions. If you make an amazing impression in interviews then they will hire you regardless of how much you actually know. A lot of ppl would rather teach and train you if they like you then hire someone who knows everything but fails during an interview. I'm sure you will find a position though! Do not give up!

I did find a position after 6months of freaking trying. It's a level 1 desktop support job for $14, 3month contract, and through a temp agency. A job is a job, but i feel like the thousands of dollars I spent in school is not paying off. Pissed off but greatful

@@rty900 titles are misleading they can be the same day. I don't like answering that question because titles mean nothing. You can be desktop support and it might be helpdesk. Same goes with helpdesk.

After watching this vid, I just realized that my previous job as a freelancer was an L1 Helpdesk role lol. I was hired as Microsoft Consumer support wheee I provided support to customers who are experiencing issues with their Windows machine and Microsodt Odfice apps. Now that I will be joining a new company that gives a better compensation and wider exposure to the technology, I feel that I am quite ready for the new challenge!

In next week i go to the job interview for exact same job. IT technical support. The company is big, it covers our whole country (small country, only 1.5 million people) with mobile, internet etc.. Big telecom company. Im so excited. They got so many bonuses and good stuff for workers. This job is in their HQ and when you work there you get free work schedule. Whenever you can/want and there is just 4 working days with the exact same BIG paycheck, plus the different gifts, free laptop, free phone for the job from your home, you dont have to sit in the office all the time. And a whole lot more. Amazing company. I sent my CV because i love IT stuff and learned alot in my 35 years. Didn't expect to get called to interview. I was surprised :)

this is actually a really good guide I start my first day tomorrow and I feel way better about it. Only thing I'd recommend is to demonstrate and show a lot of the troubleshooting methods. I know you did show a little bit of it but people are coming here because they have no knowledge and being able to visually see how everything is done would make the video a bit better.

I have an interview tomorrow for a tier 1 IT Support Engineer role and I'm suffering from imposter syndrome because a few of their requirements I have never worked with, like Jira and Confluence for example, and Mac OS. So I am just going to be honest with them and tell them that I am more than willing to learn the things that I don't know. I learned with time, patience and practice. You eventually realize that practice makes perfect. You just have to keep doing those interviews until you feel comfortable.
