With those caps put some lube like Vaseline etc as they get stuck on sometimes because of two different metals used

i do wheel refurbing for a living, i go 80 grit then 180 then 320 then 500 then flat off with 800 at £65 + vat each wheel

Are those valve caps metal or plastic? If metal, as nice as they look, remove them and bin them immediately!! Trust me, they will corrode and fuse to the valve in no time and you will have a big headache further down the line!

i used those dust caps they weld themselves to the valve so good luck with that , 100 a wheel edinburgh and surrounding areas are 150ish for all four for a refurb

Maybe add a laquer coat at the end, matt finish possibly, just to give it that protection for scratching etc.

Awesome job in the wheels kev are the valve caps metal? If so put a small dab of copper grease on the valve itl stop them corroding on the valve 👍

Hi Kev, I create my filler mixing plates from old number plates, I cut them into eight, then chuck each bit when I finish filling. . . 🤔👍

never thought about playing cards for doing wheels, I thought it was going to be something sarcastic like to play cards while waiting for the paint to dry!! lol, but yeah looking really good wirh the wheels sorted, and by the looks a lot easier than masking tape and news papers over the rubbers.

I got some really great weed killer from ebay. I can't remember what it was called but it cost £30 and was meant for farmers. I just thought you might like to know Kev. If you push I will go to the shed and get the name.
