Just found this version randomly. Glad I did! Was going to share album version of this song to a friend but I decided to click live in the search results...and then abracadabra! Magic to my ears! 🔥💯 They sound great and if given the chance, I'll definitely see em live! Didn't know they were still kicking out the jams!

I'm going to see The Who tonight, probably for the last time.😭 And you can't listen to the band you're going to see before the show, gotta go in fresh eared with clean slate...So this was an ideal warmup to put me in the mood! 💯

To me, Ride, and particularly this song, is the quintessential dreampop/shoegaze example, followed by Lush. I saw Ride in '90 or '91 at the Latin Quarter in Detroit. I was new to this genre of music. The guitar , bass, keyboard, and drum work is just incredible, they all come together to create this flood of sound. Just awesome. This song, and Lush's Sweetness and Light stand out, to me as the pinnacle of this genre.

@Rob Chapman _if you hold that high of an opinion of him then check out John Fishman.. a rather unknown outside of certain circles but one of THE greatest drummers of all time- the technicality within their catalog of music (Phish) is unparalleled w any band to ever walk on stage. I would suggest start with the 2 albums “Story of the Ghost” & “Rift” ,and just imagine them playing those songs in front of a live audience ..to the “T” note for note (unbelievable, and they’re still doing it today with the mid 90’s being their highest point of precision. (my bad for rambling just trying to spread good vibes..) I do however agree with your sentiment regarding his talents behind a drum kit.. more or less a rhythm drummer if u ask me but nonetheless damn good, ✌️

That's a BOLD statement, dude! A great, innovative, solid, unique drummer? Perhaps... But NOT anywhere in the same category or league as the likes of: Neil Peart, Stuart Copeland, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd, Simon Philips, Bill Bruford, John Bonham, Keith Moon, and I could keep naming others, for the next hour... LOL. 😅

I just turned 22, but I remember when I started getting into shoe gaze/post punk and dream pop in early Highschool (I always like old and alt. music)...and it's weird to think that when I was 15 this band still managed to make me feel like there were other young ppl like me, in a small town where noone knew anything I liked, even though this song was released a few years before I was born. S.W. BEST I feel you dude, I’ve been into The Verve my whole life and only just started getting properly into all the other shoegaze bands from that era recently. And now it’s become my favourite genre!

When Andy kicks in the wah - one of the best moments in rock 'n' roll history! "I don't care about the colors . . . "

Magistral.
