The interplay of Dwyer's guitar playing, the keyboards, and the rhythm section is always top notch with this band. The keyboards seem to just serve the music as a way of adding psychedelic textures to the sound. Guitar goes between adding textures and locking in with the rhythm section to drive the energy towards peaks and valleys. JD just keeps getting better with this whole music thing and I am here for the ride.
@hippiecheezburger54574 жыл бұрын
Yeah I love how this band really embellishes in techniques that progressive acts of the 70s jammed with, I think Zappa, he was really all about his tone and his ability to talk and experiment with his instrumental jams, like Dwyer does, meaningless and full of feeling and exploration all in one, like some modern jazz really. I think Henchlock is a great piece

They’re right up there with the best live bands I’ve ever seen. The ability to find a vibe and play with it, to connect on such an abstract level, and do it so differently off the cuff each time in such an improvised way, it’s pure musicianship bordering on musical telepathy. It’s absofuckinglutely incredible music. Thank you x

These KEXP Oh Sees sessions really come close to the fantastic live experiences I had with the Oh Sees. When I play these vids loud, its like having them here playing in my Living room. June 2019 I saw them playing on Down the Rabbit hole, and I am fashinated ever since. Wow guys, what a bunch of great sounds you made. Fantastic Jazz. John is fantastic, but I appreciate the entire band at this time equally as much, great bass, great drums. love the videos as well. Keep up the good work... All one take start to finish. Dont get me wrong this is great, best they have had in a while that isnt the same as the rest. People acting like this is just being created. Some visionary. Thats all im saying. But dont get me wrong its great. Ive seen these guys 5 times in the past 3 years.
