Nice video, i saw comparisons between 4 and 5, and 5 has a bigger dynamic range, so that is a plus.

I think that there is not a world of difference between the 4 and the 5. In fact, if I had had the 4, I would not have changed it after seeing the reviews. But in my case, I didn't have one, so it made sense to buy the 5, and if it has a greater dynamic range, that's welcome, since I mostly film under bad conditions. Regards.🤗

I'm filming in 10 hit vlog on the Action 5 and applying the DJI LUT. Very impressed, especially as I can open the 10bit in the free Davinci!

Before you do that , check settings - D-log M gives you a flat profile , then after , get the Dji out for Osmo 4/5 and add the lut. Viola

@@MarioKilianPhotography Cool . I have two of the Osmo 4 AB’s use them for motovlogging. I set them to D-log M , then shoot in that format . When I am done , I convert by placing the Lut on it and tweak a little bit . I use these when motovlogging though and also vlogging . I haven’t tried the On5 pro yet but I strongly think it could have been OM4 pro or Om5.

Your footage looks good, the sky is blue and the image is sharp. It's not like my concerns about low bitrate and images tending to be washed out due to excessive HDR. If I may ask, what are your camera settings?

Hi Harry, I've read about the low bitrate, but the truth is that for KZbin videos and what I do it didn't affect me much. The settings I used for the video are 4k60fps, standard (dewarp), Rocksteady, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, Color Normal 10bit, Image Adjustment Default...I think that's all. Big Hug🤗

Good sharing, may I know the smallrig cage that u used now, is it same cage on action 3 and 4 version or its made specifically for action 5?

Hi Alfiz, thank you very much. Afiz, I think it's the same cage that Smallrig has for the Action4, in fact when I bought it on Amazon I didn't know it was for the 4, I just bought it. Then in the instructions it said that I had to take the rubber ring off the lens to put the camera in the cage and then put the rubber ring back on and that's it, it fits perfectly.

The question that was puzzling me for the entire video was "how do he managed to fit the 5 into che smallrig cage without forcing the rear door to death for closing?". The 5 is slightly beefer than the 4 and it doesn't fit well in my smallrig cage. Did you remove the rubber strips from the cage door?

Hi Umberto. I didn't know that the cage was for the Action4 when I saw it on Amazon and I just clicked. Then when it arrived, the instructions said that you just had to remove the rubber ring from the lens to insert the camera, and then put the ring back on. And the truth is that it fits perfectly and without problems, without pressure and without having to do anything additional. Big Hug 🤗

@@UmbertoUderzo It could be Umberto, or it could also be that the cage is slightly wider. I bought the camera 3 weeks ago and along with the cage. In fact, when I realized that the camera did not fit directly, I reviewed the purchase and realized that it was for the Action4, but fortunately in the instructions written in a review it said that for the Action 5, removing the rubber ring would fit it... Thank goodness!!

Hello, the umbrella is simply the cheapest one I found in the supermarket but with a thick handle, I searched a lot for a transparent one but I couldn't find one, so I bought the light green one. Hi Paolo, thank you very much for your comment. If you are demanding with photos, the Action5 photos are certainly not perfect. Under high contrast situations, they lack a bit of sharpness and present some Chromatic aberration, despite using it in 4:3 mode, it has a slight wide-angle distortion. As for low light conditions, it works very well. The video image quality is indisputable and excellent, but in Photos I think there is a point to improve slightly. A hug and have a good weekend.

Hello Mario, nice film, nice shots and but I miss your assessment of this camera. From the film it turns out that it is not bad for creators and as a reportage. But good photographs are not taken with such equipment. For me it was only information about the camera, which you did very well. Great respect for your work in teaching great photography.

Hi Adam, I just wanted to share my new camera with which I will be filming the videos, and why I chose it. It is only for filming, the photos are not really good, we will see how it works in the long term. The next video I will upload was filmed only with this camera, it is a relief to carry so little weight. A hug my friend.

Well, I have the Gopro 12, and it´s the worst thing ever..... after 5 months of videos the Gopro started to fail, low batt, overheating, low res,.... i hate it.

@@MarioKilianPhotography I have the Gopro Hero 7 too.. whats wrong with it? No overheat (and I ALWAYS film in 4K60) over hours. Low bat? Use original batteries! Aftermarket batteries are always bad. Low res? How should the resolution getting worse? Check your camera.. is the lens ok? Water or moisture inside? The only things I dont like are the slow menu, no front monitor and the poor low light quality. But yes.. I also plan to buy the DJI.. Hopefully Amazon lowers the price of the action 5 a bit at black friday/cyber week 🤩

@@eselpopper Hi Manuell, thanks for your comment. I don't know if I'm the one with bad luck or not, but my GP7 turns off by itself after 15 minutes of recording at 4k60 because it got too hot, and I only use the best Lexar card. Many times, it just turns off, and doesn't turn on again, and I have to take out the battery to restart it, considering that I use the adapter for an external microphone, which is a pain. Sometimes it also simply doesn't save the recorded files... I have no idea why that is. And the batteries, I only use original ones, and they don't last more than 30 minutes... I feel very sorry about that, 🥺since I've used Gopro models all my life, in drones and on my motorcycle trips. A hug and have a good weekend.

@@MarioKilianPhotography Hot after 15min! Wow.. my Hero7 is just getting handwarm after 1 hour (!!) recording in 4k60. Ther must be a problem with you camera. Or maybe is it the external mic you use? The extra power the mic needs to process? Did you activate wifi and gps all the time? I turned both off! These 2 are battery killers.. even on my Nikon DLSR.

@@eselpopper No, no, I never use the GPS or the WiFi, I only use it as a video camera directly. The external microphone may be the problem, but it is the original Gopro accessory to connect the microphone. This is the second camera I have, the first GP7 was changed when I was living in Iranda a few years ago, and despite that, over time it started to present the same problems. Now it is in the showcase of memories, since I am using the Action5.

@@MarioKilianPhotography I'm guessing it has a linear mode of sorts. I would think you had it on a wide FOV and that caused the fisheye.

@@DannyFyffe Hi Danny, I actually tried it in all the different fields of view, in some the effect was extreme, and in others less so, but it was always a little present if the horizon line was not in the middle or if I tilted the camera a little up or down. The Insta360 Ace Pro is great, but the skin color when vlogging is terrible!!! I want to get rid of it and buy the DJI.

Yes, I saw similar comments on review channels for these cameras, that also influenced me to decide on this one.
