This was the song I associated with a girl from high school who wasn't popular as a freshman and no one really noticed, but I did. By the time we were seniors she had "blossomed" and every guy noticed her and by then she was way out of my league. But I saw her first.

Love this song. I remember when it first came out. I was at a friend's house and we were watching MTV in her bedroom. This came on and she was going to change it and I was like, "Hold up. That's John Mellencamp. Don't change that shit." Even though she didn't seemed too thrilled, she ended up really liking this song and becoming a Mellencamp fan. LOL

Underrated song of his. Remember listening to this with my first pickup truck right after highschool. 26 years later and this song still takes me back driving that truck to college and the adventures I would experience that year. Cherish your youth youngins!

I have no idea why this song has at times played on my mind sometime this week, however this I Saw You First (Key West Intermezzo) by John Mellencamp is a classic and thrilling 90s pop rock song.
