I thought about using a thumbnail with the steaks since those do so well on KZbin, but decided against it in the end. I prefer to just keep it real rather than try and game it up for YT, and be about hanging out in the woods which folks seem to be enjoying. I prefer this format myself. Hope you all are too!

The problem I have with making shelters out of wood is that they are a lot of effort and more for permanent camp locations. I like to be a little more open to the wilderness when I am in it. Maybe use it as a snow or sand shovel in a pinch? Maybe use it as a sit pad? I don't really know yet but it sure would be handy to cut food on and it weighs nothing, plus can easy slide down the back of the pack.

Your videos are the best advertisement for taking a class with you! Good stuff. I have an off-topic question for you. I have a Mora companion and I feel like I've totally destroyed the edge. Should I keep working with it or use the Pathfinder knife sharpening service to do a "factory reset"? I feel like once I do that, and know it's sharp, I can just work to keep the edge rather than oversharpen it. Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

I think if you aren’t confident in your ability to reset the edge it’s worth sending in for a do-over, yes. Companions aren’t expensive, no, but they are great knives so why waste one? I’d get it reset and keep practicing those sharpening skills on an edge that’s correctly angled, plus they will put a 90-degree spine on it
