I was 16 in 1993 when this came out. I played this over and over on my walkman. A cassette walkman. The Pumpkins, Tool, Nirvana, Faith No More, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Rage, STP, Portishead, REM, Depeche Mode, Anthrax, The Verve, AC/DC, Ministry etc, etc were the soundtrack of my teenage youth. You honestly couldnt ask for a better group of bands to grow up with.

Also one of the reasons this album is so impressive is that Billy Corgan played all the guitars and bass on this album in addition to vocals. And Jimmy Chamberlain is a ridiculously underrated drummer.

I'm still here! I was 14 when this album was released, and it still carries the emotional drive almost 30 years later. Jimmy Chamberlin is my favorite drummer of all time.

“Hummer” is my favorite song by them. I feel like it captures that Siamese Dream album sound. Still here btw I was in high school when I first heard this.

Jimmy Chamberlin: one of the best rock drummers ever. Incredible sense of space and pocket. Groovy AF

I think I was in the studio when I first heard it. My bandmates had went back home to get some gear they forgot and I was alone in the dark with headphones on, great moment

I'm still here. Where this song as well as many other Smashing Pumpkins songs are in my life: It all lined up perfectly for me to be in my mid teens and living out all my teen angst with this music driving me on and highlighting one of the greatest times to be a 13-17 year old kid, the 90's. It was an amazing time to be alive with (in my opinion) the perfect balance of technology with interaction with the world around us. And personally it held some of the best times with my Dad and left me with wonderful memories that and now that he has passed the greatest heartaches when reminiscing.

I'm still here! I'm 31, I first heard this song when I was a little kid, but the first time I really consciously remember it is from when I was about 7 years old. I a brother who was 10 years older than me, and my parents were a little alternative, so they let me watch MTV and I was in turn exposed to a lot of cool stuff. By the fourth grade, I was obsessed with the Smashing Pumpkins to the point that I had 33 Smashing Pumpkins releases including imports, singles, and duplicates (because my parents couldn't remember which cds I already had) as well as a few t-shirts. I had sort of a rough childhood on account of my mom being emotionally and physically abusive. I would lock myself in my room and listen to Siamese Dream as well as Mellon Collie as loud as I could as a form of escape. My favorite was Bullet with Butterfly Wings. Angry music for an angry kid.

This is literally what started the soundtrack of my life. Smashing Pumpkins is track one, I hadn't heard ANY "alternative" music before then. I was in 8th grade, around 1995.

This whole album is basically Jimmy on drums and Billy on everything else.

Pumpkin's have such a rich quality to their music. Used to fall asleep with my Siamese Dream cassette playing through my Walkman. That era I tell ya.

That riff takes me right back to high school, skipping class riding in the back of an old shit brown Lincoln headed to the beach with my best friends. Takes me back to that invincible time the future was endless just like the possibilities of life and we would never grow old.

I’m not even a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, but this song seems to just get better with age. I need to go back and listen to more of their stuff.

This song reminds me of my bro, who made me discover it along with the band. My bro died in a motorcycle accident 6 months later so when I listen to Smashing Pumpkins it's taking me back to him, and I still see my bro dancing awkwardly on the song when we were hanging out in bars. Pretty fun times. That was about 20 years ago now, so I can visualize these images with a smile. But writing this made me drop a few tears, to be honest. It's quite interesting how songs bring up memories. Thru The Eyes of Ruby is another one from TSP that is just bomb! Cheers <3

I was in Alaska working in a cannery in the Summer. I read the album write up in Rolling Stone. When I got off work while it was still light out one day I walked into town and bought the cassette. I jammed on the Walkman and smiled from ear to ear. The SP will always have a special place for me to jam and appreciate. Aloha.
