I remember the first time I saw Gojira back in 2009. I was visiting The Netherland's biggest free open air festival (De Vierdaagsefeesten) in my hometown of Nijmegen. I had never heard of them before and they were playing on a SIDE stage tucked away somewhere down the river and a nearby park. Remember, they were already selling out big stadium gigs at the time. They totally blew my (and everybody's) socks off, I had never heard metal played like this before. It was a revelation. How the festival's organizers managed to get these guys to play for 2 hours at a small stage still baffles me. But I'm glad I was there.

Geebz and Gojira, a delightful combo. Love that some of their live playthroughs are extended, one of my favorites is Where Dragons Dwell Live (Hellfest 2013). A Geebz reaction on that would make for a wonderful watch, keep it up!

how can you be a huge fan and not seen the RR 2017 video?? This song is a mere snippet of that video. Saw my 1st Gojira show w/Korn last October. Great. Been to several shows at RR and there's no other venue on the planet that can come close.

Devin Townsend opened for them at this show... And Opeth played after. They also recorded the whole show because Red Rocks is the best venue in the world.

@DeJayHank it's better than the sound was live. It was really windy which you can see in the video, so the sound kept seeming to pan from left to right the whole time. Also, in this video you can see that the full moon was rising over Denver in the background

This was the best set I'd ever seen at RR. A blood moon came up about half way through their set. The were already amped to be playing red rocks for the 1st time, so they were at a high level. When the moon came up, the crowd went nuts, the band thought is was for them, and brought it up another 10 notches. They stole the night.IMO. DTP was amazing too!!! Opeth was ok. LOL.

Can you check out the new Whitechapel song Hymns In Dissonance? It's been out for a week and it's incredible. If you do I hope it's the music video version because the Spotify version that will be on the album cuts out the cool opening part.
