Welcome back to yet ANOTHER Tomb Raider game!
We're now playing "Anniversary" - and yes, I know, Legend was released before this. BUT I heard that chronologically, this comes first, so I decided to start with this. Hope you'll enjoy my first playthrough of this game!

This just shows how games are evolving in terms of what they are capable of, back in the days all your actions in 3D games could be summ up in 6 simple actions ,altho i must add they would never fail you. now we have many different controls ,different things we can do and in terms of tomb raider:anniversary, they rly often dont execute well despite them being "modern" controls, but its amazing regardless.

LIZZ, I have but a few comments about your play. You have a memory like a sieve (do not remember were you went), are unobservant (run past things without noticing them) and fidget. Most of these are due to your youth (except being unobservant) and can be easily rectified. This is not a speed run, take your time, no one watching (except for callow youth) will mind. Be calm, stop and look around (I mean really look around, don't fidget) thus you may see things you can use. In all other ways I enjoy the games and cheer up, you look so sad when a smile does not brighten your face. Good luck and enjoy the games. Please do not take the sarcasm in the beginning to seriously.🤓

Not sure if it's too early but when you play legend (aside from the V-Sync thing) make sure not to enable next generation content! (maybe just for a bit out of curiosity, then you can disable it from the game's menus without needing to restart). It's like remastered graphics but it doesn't always look good (like Lara's face), has some extra visual glitches and it tends to crash the game. Standard/original graphics are basically gonna look like anniversary's and they're also a lot more consistent if you ask me By the way, aside from walking off the edge and leaving it to Lara not to let you down (literally 😆) you can also approach the edge and press the roll button (B) and she'll do the same thing (but safer), Legend teaches you about this instead of telling you about the auto grab thing so that's how I've always done it myself 😆

I'm glad they changed some of the gods from the original game. Instead of Poseidon and Hephaistos, it was Neptune and Thor back then. Which makes no sense in a Greek temple. ;D

1:24:17 For these you can also push the left joystick in the direction you want to jump from that vertical pole and quickly press the jump button to jump in that direction (instead of it defaulting to Lara's rear), it can be risky depending on the camera angle but it's also considerably faster, you may use both as you see fit depending on the situation 😁

This is my favorite TR from the Legend trilogy. Glad you're enjoying it. I don't know why this game gets so much hate. I can't wait til you get to the Egypt levels. Very challenging.😁

Hey Lizz! You're making me want to play this one again!, lol! 😂 Although it does make my butt clench when doing some if those humps, ahhahaha! 😂 If you want to walk and you're using the PlayStation controller, I believe that if you press the R2 button, she'll walk. I'm not too sure about PlayStation controls but I this you press the right analogue stick as those are buttons too. It would be the same on an Xbox controller I think too. I hope that helps. I love how they've kept the same game but made some changes to keep it interesting as well as not having blocky water, lol! 😂 Have a great day, take care!

Amazing that this was originally a PS2 game. There was such a massive jump in graphical fidelity between the PS1 and PS2 generations.

The trilogy are probably some of the best looking ps2 games they are very much like ps 3 type. Lots of the ps2 stuff was not rendered this way.

@@daviddeath6029 I played it on a mac, but the PS2 version just looks softer and lower resolution. This is one of the PS2/PS3 cross-platform games and it shows.

@@mrglasses8953 I only play on the original consoles I have a backwards compatible ps3 that plays all three ps games and a ps 2 and one. On a ps2 this trilogy is probably one of the best if not the best rendered games and to me is not that much different to some ps3 games. It shows that the ps2 was more powerful than many of the games made for it so was under utilised on thousands of games. 😊

The atlas rooms etc in the original ps1 version are harder than in the anniversary version in my opinion, but I got stuck on the centaurs in this game and could never get past them 😊

I've ever only used a keyboard to play, and the only time I had to use a mouse in this game was in the Damocles room trying to get by all those sword-like things coming up out of the floor in the center of the room. The camera keeps changing and messing up the direction key. I played this one fine with the keyboard, but could NOT get the modern controls to work right for me on the keyboard in the remastered games. One thing I did not like was having to hold one key to keep the weapons drawn, then the direction key, and a third key to fire. Whenever hitting the look button to put the camera behind her again, I always had to hit it a second time since it would make her freeze in place.

@@LIZZgame There was a second patch released just recently, and the controls are still like that with the keyboard. I'm used to tank controls but wanted to try modern ones. The Lost Artifact seems to have gotten a visual upgrade after this patch. Of course you just finished them before this though.

That backwards jump in the Damocles room is the hardest technique to master, I think…and the game never explains how to do it. But this is not the only time you’ll need it.

I'm enjoying this newer game, and Lara looks gorgeous. But I miss the near-superhuman feats of the original trilogy. This Lara is more believable, but not as much fun. Just my opinion.
