We're now playing "Anniversary" - and yes, I know, Legend was released before this. BUT I heard that chronologically, Anniversary comes first, so I decided to start with this. Hope you'll enjoy my first playthrough of it!

Hej everyone! A few things before you write a comment: 1. I know that TR Legend was released before this, but as this is basically just a Remake of TR1, I figured I want to play Anniversary first. The next Tomb Raider games I'll play are Legend and Underworld, in that order. 2. I started without V-sync, as this often messes up streams/recordings. We turned it on a bit later in Part 2. Hope you enjoy my first playthrough of this!

Tomb Raider was my favorite action adventure puzzle game until Nathan Drake and the Uncharted series supplanted them. Going to be real fun to watch ya play the game Liz, added with the nostalgia of having played the game myself centuries ago 😁

Yaay you're playing Anniversary, this was the first tomb raider game I played and after that I loved tomb raider, you definitely got to do legend and Underworld after this!

I love this game so far! Legend and Underworld will be my next two TR games. But there are some new releases coming soon, so there will be breaks from TR in between said releases.

The animals really behaved strangely, lol. I'm very happy that you are playing this trilogy now, I love all three games and would love to play them again (but my PS3 kinda died)! And if you like the view when Lara's running, you will definitely like some of the Legend and Underworld levels a lot, too. ^^

1:18 there s no need to position Lara in the direction you want to jump. Just rotate the camera facing thr direction you want to jump, press forword then jump and she'll automatically jump in that direction. Also. Do not forget to use action to make her climb quicker.

@@LIZZgame Yes, I agree. I remember Anniversary (and the originals) being VERY tough. But Legend is smoother and more fun, I think because they really wanted an easy bridge over to Underworld (which is amazing). But I hope you’ll enjoy them all nonetheless. ☺️💚

I do like this remake, especially the updated aspect in relation to legend and underworld. Its interesting that its considered the prequel to legend when legend has more with the lore in this trilogy. It kind of feels like Indiana Jones OG trilogy setup (The first being lore based, the second not really related to the first or third, other than a couple of things and the third, itself, is the cultimation of everything before)

Currently playing this also after the remastered trilogy too. Thoroughly enjoying it, some of the reimagining of the levels is pretty decent! I grew up with the originals but never played this trilogy so its my first first time and from what I've read the remake is first in this trilogy story's timeline.

Hi LIZZ and thank you for playing this TR game too. I started playing it too but I have a big prob with the game and with Legend and Underworld too: the camera. It's moving to fast and with my motion sickness I can NOT play the games. I tried but there is NO option for setting the cam and NO solution for me continue playing. But I am happy you play them and I can see that in you streams😊😊👍👍

I love anniversary !! Not sure if you did this already but the physics in this game (and legend/underworld) go a bit nuts if you don’t have the game set to 60Hz, probably why Natla’s hair was behaving badly in the first cutscene lol. Saw you enabled vsync for later episodes so hopefully that fixes it (if you have a 60Hz monitor it should)

hi liz so glad you are doing anniversary's you looked like you are enjoying this one . what is you take on this so far one compared to the first one ?. for me the original will be the best because it offered some hard game play and some challenges with the camera and getting jumps etc. right but i love the this version nearly as much :)------ edit i think i also may start a game of anniversary's up tonight my self and play between you streams and uploads not played this one in years

Anniversary is very much stand alone from legend and underworld with the only tangible connection being natla. So about the everyones disliking anniversary of the trilogy is only because of a pair of reworked enemies that can be borderline soft locks and aren't very obvious in what to do only to be a minor enemy down the track.

Some of the glitches (like Natla's hair in the opening cutscene) and the incorrect buttons on the tutorials might be an emulation issue. I didn't encounter those on PS3.

it's the native PC port so it's not emulation. The chopy animations and bats/hair is related to framerate. The game's physics are tied to framerate so when it exceeds 60 it breaks, needing v-sync to limit it.

I had V-sync off and limited to 60fps, but still got the glitches.. It definitely requires V-sync

Also just in case, you can actually execute special takedowns when the enemies go into rage mode, a certain visual and sound happens. 🙂

yeah, I don't have it quite figured out yet. I fill their rage level, then they charge at me, jump to the side when the blue arrows appear and shoot when the red circle appears.. But do I need to aim during that?

​​​​@@LIZZgameEdit: Wait, you don't need to manually aim the reticle if that's what you mean (perhaps it's a different story in underworld 🫢), it automatically moves towards the center Yeah, you need to be holding down the aim button as they approach, and make sure you're running to one of four directions before you press the roll button. Depending on the enemy, sometimes it's best to dodge sideways, others backwards and perhaps even forwards into the enemy 😁 so feel free to experiment (and yes, sometimes Lara will kinda roll in the opposite direction 😆) Another random tip, you can perform certain movements faster if you tap Y repeatedly. It also applies to swimming, but going up or down with the jump/crouch buttons makes her automatically swim faster (would be so awkward to press the buttons otherwise 😆)

@@LIZZgame I don't think you need to aim on anniversary just time it well I think. Im pretty sure in Underworld though you have to aim during the slo mo but I could be wrong, been quite some years since I last played them. 🙂

If you like puzzle games have you played any of the Portal games? Portal looks amazing with RTX too. Also The Room series or Oddworld: Abe's Odysee & Abe's Exoddus? I'm a big fan of puzzle games myself (probably my favourite genre tbh) and it's why I like classic Tomb Raider. Anniversary and Underworld are the best of the LAU trilogy for this reason IMO. I much prefer classic Doom and Doom II over the new ones as well, because they're basically maze games with monsters. Whereas the remakes are more focused on action.

legend already had awesome handling and they added some cool new moves in anniversary.. the rage meter qte is not one of them. its so annoying because they get invincible once triggered.

My comment got deleted 😒 I already saw Natla's hair is floaty so the game is gonna be very very glitchy. Don't know how not to trigger youtube but look up how to enable V-Sync for this game and make sure it's at 60Hz (probably the default even if your monitor supports higher), and remember this applies to legend and underworld too! Glad you're playing this though! 😁 I'd pretty much said the same thing, so I don't know why the comment is still up this time but oh well By the way, in this trilogy you swan dive by pressing jump followed by roll/crouch (A then B) and to do a handstand, you hold down A instead of tapping it :) maybe you found out accidentally already though 😆

I guess you either used swear words /other terms that are a "no no", or a link, which both the YT moderation holds for review. On GOG, the game starts a settings window before it launches. And after restarting the game, that window didn't appear again.. So I just played on, but it got worse, so my chat helped me to get the window back and enable V-sync
