I imagine what happened with the boss in the lower burg was one of two things: 1. The dogs for the capra demon were replaced by something that was capable of damaging other enemies, and it killed the boss. OR 2. The boss that replaced the capra demon was too big to fit in the arena, and glitched through the floor, dieing instantly upon spawning in.

That little red ghost crab is normally an incredibly rare monster called a Vagrant. They come in two flavours, "good" that looks like a legged egg and "evil" which is the one you encountered. They normally happen when a player looses either a bloodstain with a large amount of humanity in it or if certain items are on the ground and the area is reloaded. If they aren't killed quickly enough they will move to another players world.

The crystal archers are from the Duke's Archives. A lot of people have talked about vagrants and how rare they are due to it being an online-only enemy that relies on specific death conditions from other players being met. But they're also rarely seen because they have a limited set of spawn locations, depending on the zone in which the other online player died. So if you never went to those specific spawn locations, you'd never have sees one, even if you had been playing when the online play was huge. What you saw was specifically the "evil" variant of the vagrant. In normal play, if you hadn't seen or killed it while it was in your world, it would have spawned in someone else's. If they didn't kill it, would continue to jump from world to world. After a while, it would get upgraded and become the black phantom version, which is significantly more dangerous.
@jonathans.9729 ай бұрын
This is just a theory, but it would make sense that while enemies are chosen at random, only a certain amount of unique enemies can exist for each area. Maybe something to do with their AIs, models, and hitboxes being loaded into memory at the same time. It's why you run into multiple instances of Man-Serpents, Crystal Golems, Slimes, and Bonewheels. As well as enemies regularly in the area. Some sort of insanity check for constructing an enemy load out.

I love the confusion at getting the key to the depths from killing whatever replaced the Capra Demon (a dog? not sure what he killed there). Looks like one of the snake dudes from Sen's Fortress replaced 1 of the dogs. "This is good" as he falls through the world. I love the 2 different skips being done just to go hunting items, which I think is the correct approach to a randomizer like this. Okay, the backstab from the silver knight followed by a dark wraith joining the party was hilarious. The pure joy at the Demon's Spear is perfect. Never mind. The ecstasy at getting the Zweihander is glorious. I laughed and clapped so hard at the demon yeeting himself off the bridge like the Taurus Demon did for Ellen. I did swear at you being so close to the bonfire and then dying like that. Damn. Big sigh of relief when you got the bonfire lit; immediately followed by laughter at dying to an arrow from one of those other enemies. Can't wait for the next ep!
