apparently I was misinformed. a "carrie" mango and an "Ice Cream" mango are not the same! The mango I ate in this video was a "carrie" to be clear! thanks so much for watching!

Aaron, plant your mango tree in a very very large container, about 4 foot square. Plant your tree in potting soil, that way you can maintain your soil to where it needs to grow mangos. I do this with peach, pomegranate, plum, etc. I have great success doing this. If you have any questions, holler at me. BTW, great video.

Hey Aaron, if you have a favourite mango tree you can Marcot or “air-layer” it to make a new tree. I just did it with a tree I have for a friend who really loves the mangos it produces. I can explain how to do it but there are many, many videos on KZbin about it. It takes 6-10 weeks depending on the season and how well you do it but basically you just cut a ring of bark from one smaller branch, add some rooting gel and wrap with damp moss and plastic. The cut will grow roots and you can remove it and plant it. It should produce fruit next season. 😉 I don’t know anyone with a fruit tree of any kind who would not allow you to do this as it really doesn’t affect the tree at all.

I love that you guys are sourcing locally when you can from other people in your area. Actually anytime you want to include something about your interactions with people in the community whether it's fellow fisherman or farmers I find that intriguing. Not that we don't love your spearfishing or fishing and cooking vids because we do but it's fun to see you mix up the variety a bit. I am rather new to your channel in the past few months but I really enjoy your vibe and especially I really respect you as a person, a business man and a native Floridian who understands the value and importance of responsible fishing and it's refreshing to see a KZbinr that holds a deep appreciation and respect for our natural resources. The hot and cold thing is awesome! One of my favorite salsa uses a nice and spicy habanero but cools it down with fresh and relieving ingredients. It really makes the flavor of the peppers come alive because the heat is balanced by ingredients that provide relief for that heat. Habanero is an amazing pepper for flavor but it's hard to taste the flavor over the heat unless you balance it out.

My buddy has an incredible mango tree whose fruits are like the Carrie, just much bigger. No fibers ... you eat them with a spoon like a sorbet, and the tree produces thousands of mangos per year. I'll save some seeds and will try to grow one for you, if you want one. I can drop it off next time I drive down to the keys. Also for the soil problem. You probably need to improve soil quality by getting some compost in. I'd just get some chickens, they're like walking fertilizer machines. You can also do things like cover the soil with mulch, it will help the ground keep more water in and decay over time to give nutrients. Many ways to do it really.
