Why don’t you just hang ‘‘em in the freezer for 20-30 min and put them to sleep rather then stabbing them? Also do you remove the poo tube as it looks like you didn’t, if you don’t, why not?

I had a yellow lab that went fishing with me all the time. He ended up liking shiners, he got so excited when i caught a net full. he would not stop eating them! LOL one day while camping on an island by the skyway, i got up and left for fishing. i had my back to the campsite, but i was about 200 yards away. I caught a nice trout and I heard my wife screaming. I looked up and here came Cala. he swam all the way to me, I loaded him in the boat and fed him a dozen shiners. I miss that dog. enjoy having a dog like that, i did for about 12 years.

Man, it is to admire your respect for these creatures and how you treat your hunt with regard and professionalism. I've seen videos from this 2022 mini-season of some characters grabbing lobsters by hand, flattening them, and tearing them apart before they even know if it's a female with eggs or an out-of-measure juvenile lobster. Once again, my respect goes out to you!

Aaron, you are a good man. Hard worker, providing for your family and ethical. I personally am envious of your life in the Keys. I grew up watching Flipper and always wanted to live by the ocean and dive, fish, harvest my food like you do. I’m 57 and will soon spend hopefully at least half my year in Florida. I learned to scuba dive at 40, better late than never, and will hopefully learn to spear fish at some point. When I do, I will definitely look you up for a charter and possibly one of your short guns. In the meantime, I will continue to live vicariously through your videos. Best wishes to you, Madeline and Cookin with Clams from Northern CA!

Wow, what a cool and calm video... Your relaxed attitude, the no show-off and controlled method of catching the crayfish is such a different angle from the others doing similar. The preparation and cooking the crayfish was nice, but where was the credit to the missus in doing the crisp green beans and mash 🤔🤔. 😏 Another nice way is to put a little bit off sea water in a bigger pot, pack some thick kelp on the bottom, maybe some small round river stones, and place the crayfish above the watermark and steam them until done. That way you don't lose a lot of flavour when boiling them in water.. Last note... The meat in the legs and head is still the best, but you know that. 😋😋😋 Thanks for the nice video. I think your videos are amazing! If they had KZbin 40 years ago, I would be trying to do exactly what you are doing. I love the Insight that you give on your trips. I wish you all the success in the world in this. It's a pure enjoyment to watch. Yes, I'm very jealous. I lived in South Florida for a decade when I was your age but decided on priorities of chasing women and drinking. Not that I didn't have a great time but yours is a lifestyle of awesomeness and being with nature. Keep up the great work!

I lived in NE Florida for most of my life and fishing and crabbing was a big part of my life. I moved to Philadelphia about 9 years ago and really missed the relaxation of going fishing.

Watching you dive on lobsters really brings back fond memories of my days lobstering. Back in those days, there was no limit but my personal limit was 20... then again there were sooo many lobsters. My method back then was to find the antennas sticking out and then approach the lobster from the backside where he can't see me. Then tickle only the antennas and he will come nearly completely out of the hole to investigate...where you can then grab him around the top. Works nearly every time back then, but then again lobsters were not menaced as much as they are now and I guess they tend to get smart.

Wow! I grew up in South Florida and the keys, my family has a house on Big Pine and grew up diving and fishing. I’ve never seen someone squish the shells on a lobster tail to remove them. Learn something new everyday 😅. Love your story and your channel. I just stumbled upon it just now. Very cool!🙌🤙🍻
