Grew up in northeast Florida and we catch giants up there, but when I was living in the keys I remember catching a 6lb bug. This was in a well know spot. The market we sold to kept it alive in a tank until the end of season and let it go. Pretty cool story.

Glad to see someone using a noose. I made them in USVI with a stick and a loop of ss wire. When the bugs were backed up in a ledge I would often use the stick handle to coax them into a better position for snagging. There was no season in the 80's so it was a year long pastime. Using a noose I was able to release the females with eggs. By the time I left in 89 pollution had decimated some of my favorite spots. I worked one cave for 2 months, taking 3 or 4 at a time. When I first looked in that cave, all I saw was massive antenna's. The last time there as I approached all I saw was broken antenna's and legs. The commercial guys had found the cave and wiped it out.

Another great video, thank you. I made the 1200 mile drive down from Maryland on February 27th for a two week fishing and diving trip. I got a couple days in and the rest were blown out with the wind. My kayak and beginner Spearfishing skills have a lower limit. I’m going to repeat the trip again in September and hopefully have better conditions. In the meantime I will be following you and dreaming of what could have been :) I feel for the charter captains and crew as I saw the docks just full of boats that couldn’t go out. As far as Patreon goes, it’s a nice platform. Think of it as KZbin where you can set a monthly admission fee, from $1 on up, and you can have multiple tiers. The downside is that it would double your work trying to do youtube and have a patreon site where you do something that gives more value. In the end it’s all about your time and energy and how you want to spend it. For me personally, I would buy into a tier for two reasons, one to get more access or useful info, and secondly to help out guys who are hard working and trying to make a life for themselves doing what they love. People like that, you, deserve support from those of us who learn so much, and are entertained , not to mention living vicariously, by your efforts.
