Extract from the seventh small group discussion in Malibu, 1970.

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

I think what JK is trying to say is that without love in the right sense (I.e. unconditional love and compassion; without jealousy, pleasure etc), then everything has very little meaning. Even if we are able to achieve a mind which is completely empty, and free from the past and memories, there is no point if there is no love in the right sense. To receive something that’s beyond the mind, we should not be seeking, waiting, expecting or hoping, but to live our lives with love in the right sense, helping others with unconditional love.

@@yishmiraibenisrael8771 Yes indeed! you can ask "who does this?", "who feels this pain?" and so on. And it is productive! If one isn't referring to the self and engaging the ego what-so-ever. Which is very difficult. But it is just a step beyond! Then, you will first of all experience presence. And that's good enough. A whole lot of paths and experiences are available once you grasp presence. The ending of suffering however? now that requires real grit! don't let anyone fool you! get serious about it!
@5xing8gua
@5xing8gua 3 жыл бұрын
You asking how to unlearn all the teachings you have gathered and how to cancel your experience. There is no way. They only solution is to stop pretending to have self. Who can proceed in this? Nobody can. So becoming nobody with or without socially acceptable name, language, behavior is the only way to be. The choice is: to be nobody (literally no thing) or to be some thing is most general choice in one's life. You born as nobody then name given, language and other things are imposed to the screen of your being. When you die, the mirror must be empty. But one who believes in life after death makes oneself into broken mirror which does not show any thing in its wholeness but reflects bits and pieces of imaginary or even worse - it emits its own light and sound as TV does. That kind of mirrors are usually dismissed and thrown away. Or repaired, polished back to their original state. There is no use of distancing from broken or hazed mirror - it won't work at any distance. "how do you create distance between your self" - you simple throw away self or just cease to feed attention to impressions instead of keep attention free of misuse.

It seems like one has to be willing to be vulnerable to the unknown moment and the unknown future. Throw off assumptions and still be aware of the risk of being manipulated by the conditioning of the mind itself and the mind of others. There seems to an unconscious intelligence that must be trusted to be fully present. Anyway I really appreciate Krishnamurti's insight.

I have often wondered why others are so limited in mind...The mind is a reflection of past, present, and future. If you think your mind is just an organ, then you will find limits to your understanding...once you abandon this limited thinking you will be free. So, yes the mind is already free, but you have been lead to believe otherwise.

There are thousands of people like this, they have no 'inner voice', no 'thought', a silent mind. K. Makes the question for the listener to answer it for himself. After observing, then understanding, then accepting one self after that a peaceful quietness comes. But there is still something missing in life. K. Says (if I understood correctly) that extra thing can't be an idea or an experience because it would be a projection of our own mind. So it is something that comes to you (stating that there is such a thing). So, how does that happen? Does it happen after internal peace and order; and after understanding the real meaning of love and compassion? Are there other aspects to be understood? If someone could share a light on this, that would be wonderful.

If you live in the present time in the heart, where the soul is located and the Ego cannot go in, you do not use your brain, it is impossible. Then you are just there, doing what you are supposed to do as you have this intuition coming to you. We need to live in the "here and now" and should you need to come back into your heart 2000 times a day, you just do it. After a while, many years, it becomes a way of living, by letting "that" do the work. A lot is said about quieting the mind, by many teachers and books, etc. And that is a good thing because a quiet mind ( while blissfully peaceful for the individual themselves ) is a prerequisite to what is beyond. So rather than waiting, hoping, expecting or seeking - Does one sit with a quiet mind is a stateless state of curiosity ~ wondering what more can be realized ? But not even thinking ( insisting ) that there is anything more to be realized ?

For this and any other extracts, you can look it up yourself by searching for the full talk using the information in the video description. In this case, simply search for 'Malibu 1970 Talk 7' either directly on KZbin or Google. If you learn this method you won't need to ask for the link again. Hope this helps.

Understanding even a sentence is very difficult yet curiosity is still there since seventies the years of peak performance and marriage. EMPTY mind is devil's FACTORY was common saying of those times to keep us busy. Does this TALK is about touching the " TOUCH SPACE " kind of thing where one and only which is and can not be lonely that itself is a kind of craving or desire or EGO and emptiness as well is not there become a bliss of or state of " BEING NOTHING ". THANKS.

Mind cannot see in the same way teeth cannot bite itself, eye cannot see itself or ear cannot hear itself. An emptied mind reveals the beyond. From there a fresh and new mind can arise. Any action from the actual mind is an action of memory and prejudices, completely burdened in the past. A fresh mind is born and die from moment to moment, otherwise will build a wall of sorrow, will remain attached to the past.

Bhagavatgeetha, last chapter is comprehended line 'Choosing the right over the pleasant is a sign of power' Right! conformity or nonconfirmity of the mind?, Dominance of experienced mind? or, decision of the quiet part of the mind? Will Quiet part of the mind that observes, accepts, rejects, eliminates, indulges, orders correction and a change, master in it's own place capable of self empire. Sri Aurobindo It's the cooking intuition , the silent mind of JK has been doing.

Has the mind come to this point of no accumulation at all ? Then the other seeks such a mind out. You don't need to run after God, god runs after you.

It seems K. has glimpsed something about the human psyche, mental activity. Without this insight we are trapped by existing conditioning. In this we want an experience of what K. describes - but the description is not the described. How can we understand, discover this insight or is it beyond us? Perhaps if the question is asked with 'upmost' energy demanding what is it to be conscious, how does the sensation of existence take place, and constantly pursue this question without accepting the answers until 'truth' appears. Truth having no alternative.

Hello, Thank you for your comment. With Krishnamurti you can start anywhere. You can watch or read something on a specific topic of interest; you can also watch or read one single talk and think about it for some time, or watch an entire series of talks one day after another. There are no rules to follow. We have hundreds of short extracts on specific topics on our KZbin channel: kzbin.info/aero/PL1n30s-LKus7dNxzSB1uglJ_H5SbXcokN An example of a complete series of talk: kzbin.info/aero/PL1n30s-LKus4z93YZiGT517UuKXvzbAnt For a complete overview of Krishnamurti teachings see the 18 dialogues between Pr Allan Anderson and Krishnamurti: kzbin.info/aero/PL1n30s-LKus7XDJA0eXbd5n3f9qDcQOWP On jkrishnamurti.org you can search for specific words/topics. For example: In jkrishnamurti.org/ Click on the TEACHINGS tab: jkrishnamurti.org/teachings Enter a word of your choice in SEARCH TEACHINGS and then click SEARCH You then have access to hundreds of transcripts where the word you searched is included.
