Extract from the tenth conversation with Allan W. Anderson in San Diego, 1974.

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

There is no thinker and this is not a idea. A idea is a construct of the brain.

@Noway Jose Written nicely. I wish that many not only understand it, but live by it. Life is constantly in movement, when thinking is aware of its own movement and dissolves itself, then one is confronted with nothingness. Learning is now your companion. Be aware of what is, then silence and peace are always there. It is up to you (all), otherwise the brain looks for mental constructs on its own.

I think calling him a thinker misses the point of his ideas. He was a thinker who learned to merely observe, and from those I observations, he asked questions. Questions that rarely seemed to have definite answers, but essential questions nonetheless.

Learning is not mere acquisition of facts and confirmity to the known aspects, instead it's about unlearning without the intention to unlearn or learn. However today this term is highly corrupted where institutions, mentors and coaches tend to direct the attention of their pupils to any coveted position, idea or familiar material or abstract gains. We are not even shaped to encounter failure, how can learning take place if we are too selective in our palette of emotions...

Yes, learning is without doubt a process of accumulation! Who does not understand that, denies any possibility of improvement, and suggests that there is nothing for us humans to do but watch the flowers and feel the wind, which obviously is not in any way what we humans are here for! Learning is: collecting, selecting, comparing, joining, evaluating, validating, assimilating, practising, sublimating, confirming and assembling. It is not some automatic habitual equalisation.

Being poor you can’t experiment to find out if there is another type of learning but have to learn whatever is natural to mind which is to accumulate. I feel like whole discovery is just possible for rich , poor like me just work out butt off just to survive and can’t even inquire into things because we can’t change even after knowing what is the rite way to live.

Andy - I thought that just today when listening to an audiobook by Dale Carnegie. Because he had wealth he had the time to learn and write. But folks working just to live ‘ hand to mouth ‘ don’t have the same luxury. But on the other had, I think it’s wonderful that even the poor can learn from great thinkers.

Hos did the rich become rich to start with? Were they poor at some point in their life (except those who inherited)? Those who inherited, will they develop the aptitude to become great thinkers and influencers to the same extent as these great thinkers do? I have also seen examples where riches inherited made them lazy and stay in the pleasure +luxury state. We who are not rich have an amazing opportunity to keep trying to come out of this loop, if we don't, we will still be influencing our next generation.. more power to you.

This does not go against what K says. Of course learning skills is important, but that doesn’t lead in psychological health. Physical health is secured with knowledge of how to build houses, medical knowledge, food production etc. But this kind of knowledge is not enough on its own to promote and establish permanently psychological health and security.

Attention is also affected by knowledge because when you look at tree for example, you are seeing a tree because you know what is it

attention is not affected , before you were attending to the tree and now you are attending to the thought that " thing / tree structure " is actually a tree ( from memory ) . So you're still attending absolutely unaffected , just to a different object of attention that is .
@MrMaxKey
@MrMaxKey 3 жыл бұрын
@@glamour7538 What happens when you look at the tree even without thinking that it is a tree? A pattern recognition is working internally so you discriminate it as a separate object. That's knowledge

This is difficult to take in when K. says there is no other learning apart from learning about the mechanical. It seems K. means learning that requires action or learning that leads to physical action. i.e. learning carpentry or learning technical skills to draw what the carpenter must make. But of course there is learning about the facts of history or geology etc. And there is no point in learning about God unless it's the history of god as an idea. But there is no point in learning how to behave when the learning don't lead to action. We can learn about love or ecology or human behaviour but it hasn't altered our behaviour. For this, or so it seems, we need to see, sense our own mental activity for it's our own mental, brain activity that is trapping humankind into our destructive behaviour.

He refers to the abramitic God only. Because God is not an invention of the mind but is something that has been observed. The trick is, he and most of the people ignore what the ancients meant when they said God. Only God exists.

There is nothing to learn Because all accumulations (conclusions ) condition (hypnotize) us. Just being aware of our thought process (which are programming us), we will be unconditioned (because the moment we become aware, the programming which is running unconsciously will stop on its own) We just need to unlearn (empty) ourselves
