if youre to say this man is the most amazing it means his teachings or observations have basically fallen unto deaf ears. The reason he is one of many amazing men is he has the ability to articulate conversation which is directed towards bringing about awareness of how what we experience as individuals and the peril which falls between us, is in fact something every human shares in common.

"the content makes up the consciousness". this is a really important point. only after one has emptied the contents of their consciousness can one get past the barrier of consciousness to pure awareness. we sense that awareness is just behind consciousness but it's obscured by the consciousness which only exists to hold it's own contents. this is real -- some may call it the void or emptiness, some may call it god, some may call it enlightenment or stillness or being outside of space/time but all fingers are pointing at the same moon. good luck everyone.

The self is an illusion. To acknowledge the throwness of being is to realise how little control we had this whole time. As the self diminishes into oblivion, the value of novelty and uncertainty by nature follows. These 2 values alone allow you to see things for the infinitesimally limited scope that we have and welcome new energy into our soul. This is why psychedelics can get you half the way and allow you to experience a strong albeit temporary ego death, a jump start if you wil, but without the perennial understanding and discipline accompanying these realisations one can end up deluded without a direction. Best of luck to all on this journey xo.

This man destroys his very consistent point of “ can we change “ by his pointed explanations of how we are all conditioned and what an insurmountable effort it would be to change. Every life that comes out if this world would have to change in their lifetime how hard is that if not impossible. Every life every teenager has to change good luck with that. We can better ourselves up to a point but there will always be a motive. The world is the way it is suppose to he can we change ? he always asks. we can hope.... but its all words. @Jake ... - Powerful realization of your statement... this is exactly the conversation I need to listen to... "there is no separation from the inner & the outer... they are both one movement... the outer is a representation of the inner..." so True
@jeanettemoreno25733 жыл бұрын
The point isn't to "tame" your ego, it's to get rid of it completely. Taming is just another form of suppression and suppression is just another form of ignorance. To say that something is impossible, is just another way of giving yourself permission to continue being ignorant because it's easier than facing yourself. It's a lifelong commitment but not in the sense of ideals or morality because, again, that's just you putting an image to the action. His deep commitment comes from a place of love, he loves this life and everything/everyone in it, regardless of what he may think of them. He treats everything and everyone with such care in every act of daily life, in his words, in the way he lives life because he loves deeply. That's where his commitment comes from and that is exactly what love is. When you truly learn to love, you'll see that, that's all there is in life and that's when it really hits you. I'm not saying this to try to argue or anything, I just wanted to share what I've found for myself.

What it means to be free from the me: If you suddenly discover something beautiful, something like a mountain, a flower, a bird, a butterfly - there are so many beautiful things in this world - there is, for a moment, that sensation of awe, when that thing completely absorbs you. In that moment you don't feel anything about yourself, that is, a total dissolution of the me. I wish you that this moment lasts forever. If you never experienced a sensation of awe, you may try a moment of pure love. If you had neither a sensation of awe nor a moment of pure love, you should continue to listen to J.K.

There is comment about Indian people who receive this kind of teachings on daily basis from their parents. I don't think the writer of the comment has listened to Krishnamurti speaking to the Indian audience. Either that, or he has reduced these teachings to something very common and thereby missing the whole point. There is nothing in the teachings of the old. Every time you listen or read these teachings, there is something new to be discovered. The significance of these teachings lie in the fact that the individual is taken to a point where he or she deeply understands the complex own inner world and realizes the urgent need of living with this complexity with great deal of care and attention. If that is understood then both - the parents as well as the children - start on a journey of timeless learning. That is all.
