True. I was never interested in spirituality and scriptures, I listened to the occasional talk by Alan Watts, then I listened to many other great teachers, but once I came across this wonderful man it started making sense. Prior to knowing who Krishnamurti was I have heard the world being referred to as maya, maya meaning illusion, but after I listened to K I thought if by the world you mean the world of thought then yes it is correct, the world of self-centered thought is illusion. I have heard the phrase "we are all one" but could never grasp that depth of that, until K pointed out the basic ground which all humanity stands on, which is the consciousness that we share, such a statement that we are all one does make much more sense after listening to his talks.

01:10:34 "So, thought is a material process, movement, so when there is no movement, is there something totally original, totally untouched by humanity, untouched by all the movement of thought? Therefore, that may be that which is original and therefore most holy. You understand? This is real meditation. To start from the very beginning not knowing - please, if you start with knowing you end up in doubt. You understand? If you start with not knowing you end up with absolute truth, which is certainty. I wonder if you capture this. Because we began by saying we must investigate into ourselves and ourselves is the known, therefore empty the known. So, from that emptiness all the rest of it flows, naturally. So, where there is something most holy, which is the whole movement of meditation, then life has a totally different meaning. It is never superficial, never. You may have ten suits or a house, but if you have this, nothing matters. Well, sirs, that's it."

K is beyond any doubt the most vigorous and had the greatest integrity of anyone ever who pointed out the existence of absolute truth. Communication is definitely a skill set as well. Today's gen, by and large, may not have the attention span to traverse the beginning of one of his sentences to the end of his second or third sentence thereafter, let alone hear enough to even "begin." It looks like they had an attention span back then, but his style of speaking was difficult to grasp or there was some issue regarding the words aspect of all of that. What I suggest to ppl is to attempt to recall a time when anyone was about 4, 41/2, or 5 yrs old (at the oldest) when they were alone abd nobody else was around to influence them in any way...when they saw their very first sunrise or sunset, purple mountain, streak of lightning (you know, whatever along those lines...) and how there was this total absorption of that. To remember that experience. How crystal clear and total that experience was. Then make the connection that that is what new and fresh and truly alive are. And we don't have it when we clutter things up w the contents of our own minds (which includes tryingvto recreate an experience. I only suggest that they recall the quality of the fresh and the new itself...what that was like. But don't recall it in order to have it to recapture it). The person we saw 5 minutes ago and the image/impression we have of them are already, as a fact, old, dead, and obsolete. So why can't we see eachother fresh and new each and every time we see eachother? Bcz it IS fresh and new each and every time. Yet we don't see that somehow. Jesus said, for all the Christians out there, "Let the dead bury the dead." So only we keep the dead alive w our images which have no validity beyond which berry is poisonous and which one is nutritious. We take memory where it has no business going to. If we did not have this as small children, then we cannot ever realize the natural mind in any and every case regardless. We would just be talking about a bunch of phantasy rubbish. So find out the quality of the fresh and new-the difference between truly living and existing as someone who is dead caught in dead old memories...😮

Comparisson is the thief of joy. Reality and truth are seperate. To see what IS without it having to be true or false. Without comparison. It just is... without the observer of thought having to confirm that it is true or not. So to live in the moment and be here, now in the event of it happening without placing yourself above or below it. Just to observe and see it without belief or disbelief. To just be with it in the moment... observing, learning and knowing yourself so that you may observe the world around you without comparison. So that the mind is free to be in this real moment... without a motive. Without intent. Also, meditation is the observer observing oneself. Going deep within yourself and finding not truth, but pure wisdom.

It’s so simple. We all know a person who when we’ve misplaced our keys asks, where’s the last place we had them? If we could think the answer or remember we would. We try and force the thought, most times it doesn’t come. We are out for a walk when suddenly a creative idea comes, the answer to an old problem, or memory of someone we once loved. Where does it come from, no one knows, but it’s usually accompanied with an emotion. We must not judge either as good, bad, right, wrong, positive, or negative, we must simply accept so it can go.

So for complete observation n understanding: 1.movement of time from past to present & stop 2.the mind doesn't record past as memory 3. Observation takes place in the present without the influence of past memory 4. There should be no motive/ intention 5. There should be no control/ suppression 6. Total observation of Thoughts ie the thought itself dividing into controller n controlled, movement of thought ie arise, flourish and subside 7. Thus complete observation n understanding and one go beyond the thought instantly and permanently. Eg: Anger Thus 3 major factors that contributes to distortion in total observation: 1. Memory in the form of past knowledge, experience, believe, assumptions 2. Motives/ intentions/ purpose 3. Control/ suppression J.K.'s teachings make for excellent meditation commentaries, and I truly hope that Jayasara's soothing voice/ JK foundation to consider it & use the meditation commentaries in their retreat center.

I had to be open and to be patience to become aware of my own lifetime of conditioning, it never too late to begin our own path, some say it’s a very esoteric way of life and too complicated that’s what I thought as I began asking questions seeking truth.

Is it esoteric or maybe that’s the world’s view. But it’s a different way of life, right? Not the way of our conditioning? And does one feel out of step with the the world, as it is? A religious life, but not in the traditional sense of that word?
