I rarely agree with PP, but his all star comments are what the NBA needs to hear before tip off. Tournament style with elimination games to 40 is way too short! They could get that in 10-12 minutes, then you would suddenly have the all star experience over for some of these all star starter-quality guys (and that’s split between 8 guys). Then the next game is even shorter-to 25. That could happen in 6-8 minutes. Then it’s over. Your team of 8 wins when you hit just 65 points. MVP could only have like 15 points. Tournament style is cool, but give these guys some time on the court. Play to 80 and 50 or do double elimination.

Changing the geometry of the court is a bad idea. How can you just ruin the history of the game like that. Thats like saying they going to drop some games to like 65 that ruins all the history of the game and it aint fair

Too late. They take 3 steps now, carry the ball, get to lunge an extra step toward the basket after being stuck in a pivot, up until last year the defense couldn't breathe on anybody. It's already changed. Everything changes. Ain't like anybody respects stats from the 60's-80's anyway. Wilt, Oscar, Kareem. Whatever happens this week is "greatest ever!"

What if the geometry changes proportionally? Same layout, just stretched. I think they need to widen the court finally and stretch out the 3pt line. Guys are bigger. 6'9" guys on the wings. Players have extended their range. The court needs to adjust to their evolution.
