yeah they do give good info, but the truth about water conditioners is you can make 2litres of it yourself for approx $2........99% of water conditioners are simply sodium thiosulfate crystal's mixed with water.

Great video, keep up the good work :) When you talk about water conditioners, I realize of course your videos are mainly aimed at American viewers. However, it might be noteworthy that in some parts of the world the quality of tap water is much better. For example, tap water in the Netherlands is of excellent quality. No chlorine is used in the water treatment process because it's just not necessary due to the extensive treatment process used. If there's any present at all, it's because of other reasons and luckily at far lower levels. (doesn't mean that I don't use conditioners, I use Seachem Prime) My water company even publishes their regular water quality tests. For my home town, there's barely even any nitrate (0.97 mg/l) and nitrite is below detection levels (< 0.01 mg/l).

Your comment about the value of KZbinrs to the hobby is correct. Many years ago I quit the hobby due to lack of availability to information and accessibility to necessary products. When thinking of returning I scoured KZbin finding yours and two other wonderful informative channels that gave me the confidence to return to the hobby. The two of you and others sharing your expertise is invaluable to the hobby. Wholesalers who can’t see that are blind.

Very helpful video! Thank you! I'll add, that I have my first Betta, and for emergencies I love to keep on hand several Fritz Betta Waters. Came in handy during my first two months with my Betta when I had to move him out of the tank quickly at a time before I found out that I should be using the API Master kit test kit, instead of the strips to test the water.

I've been subscribed for a few months and honestly I don't regret it. This channel has given me the confidence to start a tank with guppies, barbs, danios and neon tetras and It's going on swimmingly! (no pun intended). I had previously owned several tropical fish around 5 years ago and they all died within a fortnight. To this day I still don't know what happened to them, but my tank has passed that time frame and Isn't showing any signs of ill fish or poor water conditions. This channel has helped me grow my knowledge on fish keeping and It's now a new hobby and passion I wish to help people out with. Thank you KGTropicals!

Good Topic ! I have a whole house water filter system that removes chlorine and chloramine and sediments, however I sadly learned that it did NOT remove heavy metals. That was a sad lesson to learn several years back. I, since then, continue adding Amquel Plus detoxifier/conditioner with all water changes and all is well.. I also add salt very occasionally, when adding new fish to tank..

I wish I would have already seen this video before I ordered Seachem stability, it's going to arrive tomorrow for a new 10 gallon tank that I put 1 betta in with 2 small mickey mouse plates and 10 young neon tettra's. They have been in there for 3 days now. The whole learning about the nitrite cycle thing has freaked me out! I have had a couple betta's in 3.5 gallon tanks each which I do a 50% water change about every 2 weeks and have had no issues for a year now, They both look beautiful and energetic, I put a couple ghost shrimp in there also which they enjoy as well as 4 neon tettra's. I don't think those tanks ever went through a cycle. Anyways, I will keep doing what I have been doing with the very small tanks. The 10 gallon though I see that I should most definitely go through a cycle. Do you think Seachem stability will get me through or should I return it and order Fritz Zyme 7?
