Thanks, Daniel. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've since managed to get the glitch working a few more times. Once I manage to get them all in order I'll post another video showing more exploration of the area. You can actually get out pretty far (Moonlight Hill becomes a speck in the distance)... after which a few strange things start to happen with the sound.

Thanks, man. I found it completely by accident while I was about to film myself farming Rare Truffles. The part you see in the video right at the start is me discovering it for the first time... I land on it accidentally, jump off, then I realise what it was, then I jump a few more times to try to get back on it. It's hard to get back on though... I've only managed it a handful of times, but from what else I've managed to explore, the void is effectively infinite (or as infinite as the game will allow) and the music will start glitching out if you travel far enough away. I'm glad I was able to entertain.

Funnily enough I actually recall stumbling onto that exact invisible platform a few years back, also while fighting a Truffle, but for whatever reason it was just a singular platform that I simply jumped off of. I was hoping it would result in this since it made me think of the old Destiny Islands one, but I must have just been a few pixels off, and sadly I couldn't get it to work a second time.

I did try in the past but didn't do anything tried doing it and doesn't seem to work for me so I don't know how he made it work

@@nineinchthread I haven't gotten back on to try again, but I'm pretty sure it's just a very precise spot you have to land on at just the right angle. The old one on PS2 was the same, but much easier to pinpoint since the location was like right on a corner and easy to repeatedly try.

I had a feeling that I probably wasn't the first guy to discover this glitch. I've never seen it posted anywhere else though. I got pretty exited the first time I found it. The first scene of this video, where I fight the Rare Truffles, is actually footage of me discovering it. Then the next couple of jumps were just me trying to find it again. I have only ever been able to trigger this glitch while entering from Oogie Boogie's boss arena location (you have to jump all the way down, then take the sewers back up). I don't know if it is possible to trigger it from the Moonlight Hill area. I have recorded myself finding it a few more times, but its location is fairly inconsistent. I have not yet found a way to pinpoint the exact location of the platform and it can take me 5-10 mins per attempt to re-locate it. In some of my newer recordings, I had found a music bug that could activate when you ran away from Moonlight Hill (towards the moon) for around 40 Minutes. The music bug sounds similar to a sped up version of Hooks Pirate Ship theme from Neverland.

It does take you 'to the desired area', but it looks like it spits you out from the fountain? I wonder if it's improperly linked when that room is loaded or if it's more of a case of 'check for destination' and then 'check for current room' and since the only way to go straight there from the room you're currently in is the fountain it thinks that should be where you are supposed to go

I think that that is the most likely case. The only other explanation I've managed to come up with is that the fountain may be the origin point for that specific map and so when the loading trigger is improperly entered it might just teleport you to that, given that the correct loading zone was not accessed. Deep Jungle also has a similar area in the Campsite area when you enter it from the Jungle Slider mini-game. I know that other games will have a map origin point when the game doesn't know where to put you (like Dark Souls, for example). I think that your explanation is the more likely of the two though.

Can you interact with anything in the Hill and Graveyard areas?

Unfortunately, no. If you land in the room with the actual Moonlight Hill then none of the interactive zones will appear for you. So you won't be able to exit in either direction. Also, you wont be able to enter either of the graveyards because the interactive zone to take you there wont appear. There are no Treasure Chests or Trinity Marks either. If you land in the Moonlight Hill section then its basically a softlock.

Dude, I was wondering if, by glitching or by modding the game, then oneself could reach new areas hidden from the average player. What do you people think?

I would say definitely look into it. If you can find something relating to this glitch that allows the player to warp to other locations, it would be an enormous addition to the community (especially to speedrunners). ...Another commentor by the name of "meandmyshadowclones" on my 101 Things You Didn't Know about Kingdom Hearts 1 list video has informed me that Kingdom Hearts 1 is not built like other games. Rooms are not procedurally generated, they are separate files that exist independently from other rooms. Also the music glitches that I've discovered using this particular glitch are likely glitches in the digital orchestra (The music is not pre-loaded, the different notes play to a music sheet, which can cause glitches when . However, if you are able to find something new about this glitch that could potentially activate some kind of save warp, such as in the Dark Souls Games: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHjNYWeYbKqjjqs ,please do share.

I had an interesting talk with one of the commentors on the 101 KH1 Facts video (His name is: meandmyshadowclones) where he went into detail about what was going on. I'm not sure I'm understanding it fully myself, but it goes something like this. The game calculated the distance between an Airborne Sora and the nearest Walkable ground. I walked to a touchy area of the map that didn't recognise any walkable ground beneath Sora. So instead of doing what most games do and just dropping me through the bottom of the map, the game instead looks at the data and says: (What is the distance between Sora and Walkable Ground... Answer = Unknown. Is Sora currently falling (is falling animation playing).. Answer = No. Therefore, because Sora is not currently falling, the distance between Sora and Walkable ground must be 0)? So when I jump, the game runs that calculation again... finds no ground beneath Sora that he can walk on, so it cancels the jump animation and assumes that Sora must be standing on Solid Ground. The game keeps on doing this every time I hit (O) to Jump, causing the effect you see on screen where he can ascend endlessly. The game thinks Sora is on solid ground. This is why the game wont let you descend, it doesn't want to risk giving Sora a negative height Value, because in most circumstances this would drop him below the map and into the void. The game will let you descend if you go back over Moonlight Hill because it recognises Moonlight Hill as walkable ground below Sora, so it calculates how far Sora has to fall to get back to the ground and then activates the falling animation. As long as you were high up enough this will allow you to jump over the invisible walls that stop you from reaching the unloaded sections of the Moonlight Hill Area.

@@therealsilverking4802 that's similar to how it works in Mario 64, he'll snap up to 78 units upwards onto the current floor, and if he's grounded, up to 100 down to the current floor, but the out-of-bounds handling is different, cancelling the movement entirely if no valid floor is below him instead of...infinitely jumping lol i got this from pannenkoek's useful vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5-4aHeAjc6Ad7M
