KH2FM HD (PS4) -- Data Larxene Disrespect (Critical Mode)

I was really, really tired of retrying No Abilities Data Larxene on my low-level file.
And so I decided it was time for some stress relief.
I found a way to kill Data Larxene in a single combo from the beginning of the fight with the minimum possible setup. I'm pretty sure the only two Data Org members this works on are her and Zexion, because they have the lowest HP, although if you DM skip on Vexen you can accomplish something similar.
The Abilities I show at the end of the video are the bare minimum needed to accomplish this. Required stats are 77 STR and 80 MAG.
Speedrunners probably have a better method for this fight, but I doubt it's this easy to use. I don't know, I never watched a Level 99 Data Org speedrun (Level 1 is much cooler, in my opinion, because it's a lot harder than what I did here).
This may also be helpful to people struggling with the fight in general. Note that this won't be quite enough to kill her on Standard or Proud since you deal more damage on Critical Mode. Unfortunately I do not have a Standard or Proud Mode save with which to test exactly how close it is possible to get with this strategy.

I actually find her one of the easiest, mostly because of what I did in this video (but if you know your Summons and Reflect Timings, she's a free win regardless). I am bad at Xaldin and Xigbar, in particular.

For Level 99 Data Org speedruns, do you start with a Level 99 save file and fight consecutive boss battles or do you grind all the way from Level 1? I figure it's the former, but I have to ask. Great setup by the way, I love the simplicity of it

I'm not sure I understand your question, so I will flail about making feeble attempts at addressing it. The Level 99 Data Org speedrun starts at Level 99. Timing starts when the first fight fades in and ends on the last hit on the last member. You do not level up at any point in the speedrun, since bosses in KH2(FM) don't give experience. If what you're asking is whether people use a save that they downloaded from somewhere as opposed to one they set up for themselves -- I'm not sure it matters, but I imagine the setup is done manually since there are tutorials for it (you need like 50 Megalixirs or something, so I'm not about to do it anytime soon). Do note that I am not a speedrunner, I just like challenging myself. Somebody like Bizkit047, Bl00dybizkitz, or SonicShadowSilver2 would probably offer an answer with more certainty. I can say, however, that the Level 99 speedrun seems to require far fewer Megalixirs, in part because the fights are so much shorter. I did some checking, and this is about three seconds slower than the speedrun strat (Larxene died in 25 seconds here), but is much easier to pull off, as the speedrun strat requires precise timing of a Reflect->Sliding Dash -> Reflect at the beginning of the fight. This would, incidentally, mean a STR stat of maybe 74 would be acceptable, but since most people raise their STR before their MAG, this is unlikely to be the case (I like magic-heavy strats and haven't gotten around to maxing my STR yet). EDIT: Oh, actually, it wouldn't be okay to have lower STR. Final Firaga has multiple damaging components -- the fire scales with MAG, but the Keyblades swirling around inside the fire (which provide the bulk of the damage) scale with STR. So you still need 77 at minimum.

Thanks for the detailed response! I was just wondering when the timing began on the Data Org speedrun, and whether or not you needed to time yourself getting to Level 99. This clears it up a lot, thanks :)

I see you've done some speedruns of BBS! Good stuff! I tried that a few times and always ended up at around 26 minutes by Radiant Garden, at which point I decided speedrunning was probably not for me.

Yeah BBS gets frustrating at certain points, but I love the battle system. I was mainly attracted to it because it's only an hour-long run, which makes it perfect for the scattered free time I usually have. Data Org seems like an interesting category too though, so I might try it sometime!

Thank you. I am indeed quite excited for KH3, though I admit I worry whether or not there will be an interesting postgame like 2FM. It's nice to have a sandbox of sorts to use all the powerful tools Sora acquires throughout the game. I will probably have a lot of fun either way, though. I assume you are eagerly anticipating KH3 as well?

Out of curiosity does the level 99 data org category let you use power/magic boosts to get maxed stats?

Yes, it does, though the functional max is 80 (stats over 80 only make a difference in the Hades Paradox Cup). I'm not a speedrunner, though, and this isn't part of a speedrun attempt. I was just letting off steam.

Considering that I can beat her in a single combo on the game's hardest difficulty with only 14 AP worth of Abilities, and any strat that works against her once will work basically every time, I'm going to go out on a limb and say she's not even remotely an unfair fight.
