What makes this story believable is that Khabib first came to the US in 2011 with a training partner to train at K-Dojo in New Jersey with a trainer originally from Dagestan, to prepare for his debut in the UFC on January 2012 in Nashville. He stayed with that trainer for two fights before starting to train at AKA in San Jose California which became his training camp in America until he retired.

As a person living in Russia i know that Khabib was in US before popularity. I don't know it was a 10 years ago, but he definetely were in US before all the famous stuff, also There a old picture on internet with Khabib and Conor Mcregor, Before all the drama things, Like Khabib just staying in the back of Conor Mcregor waiting for photo with him or something.Cause Conor Mcregor were so popular at that times.
