Khambhat Nu Famous Halwasan - ખંભાત નું હલવાસન | Gujarati Halwasan Sweet | Gujarati Recipes

Halwasan is a famous recipe of Khambhat which is prepared on auspicious occasion or on festive occasions. This Gujarati sweet recipe is prepared using milk, gendur and fada. This is a very traditional Gujarati recipe and is enjoyed by everyone. Gujarati Halwasan recipe is a must try recipe. Moreover this Halwasan recipe is very easy to make and is prepared using few ingredients and does not involve complicated steps. So do try out this easy Gujarati sweet recipe Halwasan.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
500 Ml Milk
1/4 Cup Gundar (Gond)
1/4 Cup Broken Wheat (Daliya/ Gehun Na Fada)
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg (Jaiphal) Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder
Chopped Dryfruits
1/4 Cup Ghee
Procedure:
1. Heat ghee and add gundar. Fry it well till it puffs and then remove it in a bowl.
2. In same kadhai at little ghee to roast the broken wheat on low gas. Roast till it changes colour and you get an aroma of it being roasted.
3. Add milk and reduce it by half.
4. Add fried gundar and stir till the milk curdles.
5. In a pan add sugar and melt it on medium gas. When it becomes liquid add it to the mixture and mix it.
6. Add chopped dry fruits, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder. Stir on medium gas till it thickens and leaves the kadhai.
7. Transfer it to a plate and let it cool for 1-2 hours.
8. Once it cools down take some portion of it and make a round ball out of it and flatten it. Garnish it with chopped dry fruits and let it set for 24-48 hours. Halwasan is ready.
