@@mangalutv2928 It's not easy to react that fast since Khamzat doesn't shoot slowly and he doesn't show his intentions before he shoots..Also if you lift your leg to kick him the takedown becomes ten times easier and the kick isn't guaranteed to land or do much damage. When fighters train takedown defense the first thing they have to do is to try and keep both feet grounded and a kick goes against that principle. since you mentioned you are a new fan..Just for information it's illegal to kick a grounded fighter, meaning a fighter who has his hand on the ground, but in this case Khamzat was not entirely grounded so it was fair to kick him.

I was always saying Khamzat doesnt have bad cardio, he just does bad pacing on purpose in my opinion sometimes, prob due to overconfidence. The grappling he did vs Whittaker, Li, and Holland is how he should always fight explode on takedown but be calm when succed in it and drain the opponents energy like Khabib.

He also had specialists for his cardio, nutrition, strength and conditioning, etc. This time he also paced himself better in training with more recovery time so he wouldn't get sick or drop his immunity too much. If this was a stand up fight, he may have shown much better cardio improvements based on all of this.

He went the distance with Burns because he thought he could knock him out quite easily which wasn't the case, he didn't go to the ground with him because he is the biggest threat to Chimaev as he has a phenomal grappling and submission game (with a medal from ADCC), aside from him he won't go the distance with anybody as long as he is free of injuries.
