I had to think of K as → where the reaction "Wants" to be (equilibrium). Then Q as → the quantity or "pressure for change" on each side of the reaction. Also, I had to pair that logic with a line graph Where Q is on each side of K ( Q-------- K ------ Q). Each Q and K move depending on concentration, temperature, and pressure). If Q is > K, then there is more presure on the right side. If Q is < K, then there is more presure on the left side. You can also use pac-man. Worked for me.. lol

It's the state of the reaction at any point in time (it's an instantaneous measure)

To make it more clear, it is called the reaction quotient, and it is the ratio of products to reactants at any given instant.
