Hi Khang! I just wanted to let you know that I find your videos very inspiring. I am starting my own hydroponic setup and I am following many of your techniques. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

I love how simple you make it to make your own hydroponics system, using things most people have on-hand, instead of listing off a million expensive items and tools, lol. I started watching your channel last month after I watched your video on how to over-winter peppers-- before that, I had no idea that pepper plants can live past the summer! Last year was my first time growing vegetables, and I lost all my pepper plants due to the weather at the end of the season, and never even thought to bring them indoors for next year! I am definitely going to do that for all my pepper plants this year, instead of having to buy/grow from seed next summer! One thing I'm curious about though, I see you growing all of these varieties of small peppers that grow UP instead of DOWN; I know you love hot peppers, but have you ever grown any sweet varieties, or encountered sweet varieties that grow small and upright like that? I think they're really neat looking and I'm going to try to cross a few of the different varieties I have from seed this year to make my own varieties like all of your cool crosses! Thank you for all of your videos, they are very informative and relaxing, I love opening one of your videos because your voice is always just calming and chill, especially with the havoc of cornoavirus and the stress of having to work retail full time during the pandemic, I really enjoy watching all of your videos and updates, even as someone who doesn't like spicy food, it's so cool seeing all of the varieties you grow and the ones you've crosspollinated!

Your creative inventiveness is simply awesome Khang! I believe I had obtained similar containers to yours at Lowe's. Current 5 gallon and 17 gallon are on hand. As you suggest, plant pretty much as one likes while being mindful of plant growth and lighting demands. Also I appreciate the Honesty that you extend to Brad and his Hidden Harvest Lights. Having lived quite a bit of my life in Brad's neck of the woods, yes he carries some of that Yankee ingenuity and integrity with him. Happy Gardening! -Bob...

@@KhangStarr Surprisingly Khang, I have most every thing the ground. Most have begun to grow well with the warm spring this season. Have peppers setting flowers and tomatoes already set also. Trying to dodge hail storms as they bounce around this season too. Still a few months behind you tho.

Hello Khang , I just wrote a long comment and you are answering most of my questions ! I do need to know what is the purpose of the electric pump you used in other videos ? Thanks so much ! Real teacher .

I don't see why food safe dish washing sponges cut up wouldn't work. Dollar store or pound shops. Once the roots drop out the bottom the sponge only helps to support it. Pebbles or round stones from the beach, boiled for a short while to clean and sterilize is good to place on top for extra support. Marbles or ornamental stones work two. You can also purchase locally, 2" round plant pots, just cut out or drill out carefully lots of holes around the bottom and bottom sides. Hope this helps. I also like looking for easy to find alternatives rather than relying on specialized equipment 🙂👍 especially when hard to find or overpriced. Oh, mulsh or peat moss works to, especially if there's no circulation pump.

Hi Khang, you've inspired me to grow my own chilli plant! It's starting to get slight leaf oedema despite holding off watering often and the small leaves at the top are curling in. I've read the soil PH level can affect how a plant absorbs calcium. I was wondering what is the right soil PH level for a hot pepper plant? Thanks for everything you've shown thus far... I've been watching & learning loads from you!

If I understand, the rock wood stayed covered until the seeds spouted, correct? Also, how long did you leave the grow light on for the germination process? Thanks for creating this video without soil.
@KhangStarr4 жыл бұрын
I left the light on 10 hrs per day because I have other plants in there. Seeds need very little light to sprout, but they need light as soon as they sprouted, so it's a good idea to just leave them under light to prevent them from being leggy.

do u ever upload any videos of your plants bigger than tiny little plants in tiny containers? seems like you don't give your plants any space for roots or much vegetative space on top of the totes so I'd like to see how they actually turn out if they ever have turned out before. does hydro food even taste good with only feeding with chemicals since nobody really grows with organic matter with hydro. have you ate anything you have grown?
